ASICS describes a clay-court outsole with its Trusstic technology and a wrap-up shape for stability. The upper has synthetic leather overlays, with durable toe overlays, and GEL cushioning sits mostly in the forefoot. One padel listing also mentions an EVA midsole.

Padel retailers describe the sole as a herringbone pattern for grip, and that's why the shoe shows up in padel searches. A herringbone clears sand from sand-dressed turf and lets you slide a little, but it isn't the same as the padel-named sibling, the Gel-Dedicate 8 Padel.
