What the Guard tape is
It is an adhesive anti-abrasion layer that goes round the top of the frame. Fit it on a clean, dry frame and press it down along its length.
Sellers say it is easy to fit with no tools. Padelspeed, PDH and Total Padel carry it, and the thickness is not published.
Guard tape against the covers
A cover protects the racket in transit and the tape protects it on court, so the two do different jobs. The premium cover adds a strap.
See the padel racket protector page for other tapes, and the Premier ball keychain if you want a small Wilson extra.
| Item | Job | Pick it if |
|---|---|---|
| Guard tape (this page) | Protects the frame on court | You scrape the frame |
| Plain cover | Protects in transit | You carry just the racket |
| Premium cover | Protects, with strap | You want a strap |
