The adidas Defiant Speed Clay padel shoes in red, code HQ8452, are a men's clay-court tennis shoe that padel stockists also sell: a mesh upper with recycled content, Bounce cushioning in the midsole and an Adiwear outsole cut in a fine herringbone for clay. That tread is the part that matters on sand-dressed padel turf.
Zona de Padel files it under its 2023 range and calls the colour solar red. It is not the newer Defiant Speed 2, and no weight or heel drop is published for this pair.

What the Defiant Speed Clay is built for
Bounce is adidas's softer, more everyday foam, so this shoe leans towards comfort over a long session rather than the stripped-back feel of a padel-first racing shoe. Padel Nuestro describes the clay outsole as a fine herringbone, and padeltenisport and Zona de Padel both mention Bounce cushioning in the title or text.
One French tennis retailer describes the midsole as running-oriented and the outsole as generic rubber, which does not match the others, so we have treated it as an outlier. We found no padel wear test. If you play three or four times a week on abrasive turf, expect the outsole to take the wear first.
Defiant Speed Clay against other adidas shoes
