adidas Match Black Green Padel Racket 2026

£54.47

The adidas Match black green padel racket 2026 is the standard-weight version of adidas's entry racket: a fibreglass face over a soft EVA Performance core in a round or teardrop-style head, listed at 360 to 375 g. Retailers pitch it at beginners and returning players who want a soft, forgiving first racket.

Padelful scores the black Match 2026 at 5.9 overall, which is a beginner score and not a criticism: control 6.3, power 5.9, rebound 5.4. The one thing sources cannot agree on is balance, so the page lays out who says what.

How the Match plays, and what the reviews say

Padel Racket Lab calls it usable across the court, with controlled rather than generous power, and Padelful's 5.9 reads the same way: easy defence, soft contact and a small amount of attacking help. A fibreglass face is gentler and less lively than carbon, so mishits lose less pace and less sting, and smashes lose some bite.

It is a racket you buy to learn on. If you expect to be rallying properly in six months, the next step is a carbon-faced racket, and our intermediate padel rackets page is where to look.

Chart of weight ranges for adidas entry rackets: Match 360 to 375 g, Match Light 345 to 360 g, Drive 360 to 375 g, Drive Light 345 to 360 g and RX Series 360 to 375 g

Balance: five sources, four answers

Padel Pro Shop says medium, Padel Racket Lab says balanced, Padel-Point gives 260 mm and calls it balanced, Padelscout says slightly head-heavy and Sportano says medium-high. They agree on shape being round or teardrop and on a soft feel. Listed weights run from 360 to 375 g, and one black and green listing gives 368 g.

Do not read the balance spread as a flaw. For a soft beginner racket, medium to slightly head-heavy gives a little help on overheads without making the racket hard to swing. For a firmer round racket, the adidas Neuvortx is the control option. The Match Light is the 345 to 360 g version and the older Match 3.4 is last season's.

Who should skip it

Players who already rally cleanly, attackers and anyone who needs a published balance point. Soft fibreglass will feel dead once your timing improves. Start with our beginner padel rackets page if you are comparing, add a racket protector and an overgrip from the padel grips range, and use a tube of padel balls plus decent padel shoes. Our guide to choosing a padel racket and the padel racket range cover the rest.

Not for you if

You already rally well or want power. Padelful scores the Match 5.9 overall and 5.9 for power, and sources disagree on its balance.
