The adidas Gamecourt 2 womens padel shoes, code HQ8476, are an entry-level court shoe in white: a mesh upper with at least 50 per cent recycled material, a padded heel, an EVA midsole and a lace-up fit. Padel retailers sell it for padel, and tennis retailers sell it for tennis.

What the Gamecourt 2 is, and what is unclear

Gamecourt is adidas's budget tier, and the 2 is the second version. The listings agree on a mesh upper, a padded heel and an EVA midsole, which means a simple, light-feeling cushion and not the Bounce or Boost foams used in dearer shoes. Tennis Warehouse shows a white and silver colourway.

The sole is the question. A herringbone tread suits sand-dressed padel turf, and a hard-court tread is flatter and can slide on sand. Padel Nuestro and Time2Padel, both padel specialists, describe herringbone, so that is the likelier reading for a pair sold for padel, but it is not confirmed by adidas. We found no weight, no heel drop and no padel wear test.
