Black Crown Wonder Pro 2.0 Hard Padel Bag

£66

The Black Crown Wonder Pro 2.0 Hard padel bag is the roomier of Black Crown's two-racket bags: a thermal compartment for two rackets, a large central space, a shoe compartment, two small side compartments and two outer pockets, at about 58 x 37.5 x 31 cm. It has a removable shoulder strap and two padded backpack straps.

The word Hard in the title needs a caveat. Retailers describe a PVC outer and a polyester lining, and none describes a rigid shell, so think of it as a firm, wipe-clean bag and not a hard case.

How big the Wonder Pro 2.0 is

Retailers list about 58 cm long, 37.5 cm wide and 31 cm high. That makes it bigger in every direction than the Black Crown Thunder and the Ultimate Pro 2.0, which both list 58 x 33 x 29 cm. The extra width and height go on the main compartments, so it takes a heavier kit load: a towel, a spare top, a jacket and your shoes without squeezing.

The thermal compartment still holds two rackets, and no listing gives a total racket count or a litre capacity. If you carry three or more rackets, look at a four-racket bag instead.

Carry, pockets and materials

You can carry it by the removable, adjustable shoulder strap or wear it with the two padded backpack straps. Two small compartments on the sides take keys and a phone, and two outer pockets hold things you want to reach without opening the bag. The outer is PVC and the inside is polyester, which is the main difference from the polyurethane used on the other two bags.

PVC wipes clean, which suits a bag that sits on a wet court floor, but it can be stiffer in the cold. Nobody publishes a weight, so we cannot say how heavy it is empty.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

It suits a player with two rackets and a full change of kit who likes the option of a backpack. If you only need a smaller bag, the padel bag range has lighter choices, and the padel accessories hub covers what goes in the pockets.

Keep the shoe compartment clean and dry. A closed PVC bag holds smells, so air it out after wet sessions.

Not for you if

You expect a rigid hard case, you carry more than two rackets or you want a weight or litre capacity before buying. The listings say none of those.

What to put in it

Start with the rackets: a racket protector and a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range before they go in. Balls fit in the main compartments, and shoes go in the shoe section. The Chiron toiletry bag keeps the wash kit separate. A tube of padel balls, say the Black Crown Pro tube, and a pair of padel shoes are the things most people forget to pack.

If you are still choosing rackets, our guide to choosing a padel racket explains what to look for, and the full padel racket range has the options.
