Black Crown Pro Padel Balls Tube

£6

The Black Crown Pro padel balls tube holds three balls and is the sensible way to try the ball before committing to more. Retailers pitch the Pro at players of any standard, and a single tube covers a session or two for most people.

Listings disagree on a few things, and we say which below: pressure, felt and whether the tube is metal. If you already know you like it and play every week, the four-tube dozen costs you fewer trips to the shop.

One tube, or something bigger?

A tube is the starting size. Three balls is enough for a hit with a friend, and it lets you judge the feel before you buy a stack. The dozen is the same ball as four tubes in one order, which suits anyone who opens a fresh tube weekly.

A rough way to choose: if you play once in a while, buy a tube. If you play every week, buy the dozen so a sealed tube is always waiting. The chart is an illustration, not a life figure, since Black Crown publishes none.

What the listings say about the Pro

Most retailers call the Pro pressurised, with a rubber core and a hard-wearing felt, and one says pressureless. Felt is described three ways: 50% cotton, a high wool content, or synthetic. Treat all of it as marketing wording and read the tube when it arrives.

One Dutch retailer describes a reusable aluminium tube, and that is a single source. No listing states an FIP approval or a colour, so we do not claim either. For reference, a padel ball runs at roughly 10 to 11 psi, against about 14 psi for a new tennis ball, which is why tennis balls fly off the glass.

Making a tube last

Once you crack the seal the pressure starts to leak, faster in heat and with hard hitting. Pop the lid on after play and keep the tube out of a hot car. A padel ball pressuriser such as the Head x4 slows the leak a little, though no maker puts a figure on it.

Our padel balls page lines up other brands for comparison, including the Babolat Court tube and Black Crown's own One dozen and One tube.

Who should skip the Pro tube

Anyone who needs a confirmed FIP-approved ball for a league should ask the organiser which balls count, since no listing says. Weekly players will find a tube runs out quickly, and the dozen is simpler.

To go with the balls, browse padel rackets such as the control-minded Black Crown Piton, plus padel grips and padel shoes.

Not for you if

You need a confirmed felt type, a stated colour or an FIP-approved ball. The listings leave all three open.

Black Crown Pro Padel Balls Tube: questions people ask

How many balls are in a Black Crown Pro tube?

Three. The dozen version is four of these tubes, twelve balls in all.

Is the Black Crown Pro tube the same ball as the dozen?

Yes. Listings treat them as one ball sold in two sizes, the single tube and the four-tube dozen.

Is the tube made of metal?

One retailer calls it aluminium and reusable. Other listings are silent, so check on arrival if it matters.

Are Black Crown Pro balls pressurised?

Most listings say so and one says pressureless. Look at the tube to be sure.

Should a beginner buy a tube or a dozen of the Black Crown Pro?

A tube. It lets you try the ball cheaply, and you can move to the dozen once you play every week.
