Black Crown One Padel Balls Tube

£5

The Black Crown One padel balls tube is three pressurised balls in a single tube, aimed at players of any standard who want to try the ball or only play now and then. It is the entry ball in Black Crown's range, with the Pro sitting above it.

Padel Shack lists it at 0.2 kg with a 27% cotton figure, and does not state a colour or FIP approval. One heading on that page says Pro, which looks like a copy slip from the seller.

One tube, or the dozen?

A tube is the try-it size. Three balls cover a hit with a friend, and you can judge the feel before buying more. The One dozen is four of the same tubes in one order, which suits anyone who opens a fresh tube each week.

For a moisture-repellent option from Tretorn, see the Serie+ Tour balls. For a coloured option, there are the pink Raquex Elite balls. If you want the step-up ball from the same brand, the Black Crown Pro tube has its own page. Our padel balls page lines up other brands for comparison.

What the listing says

Padel Shack calls the ball pressurised, says it is composed of 27% cotton and describes it as good quality for any type of player, with excellent resistance and durability. Other retailers describe a rubber core and a durable felt, with one saying a high wool share. Nothing says whether 27% is the felt or the whole ball.

A check on the weight: three FIP-weight balls come to 168 to 178 g, so the 0.2 kg listing fits once the tube is added. That is a reassuring sign that the weight is for a real tube of three.

Kilograms, drawn to one scale. Sense check: three FIP-weight balls are 168 to 178 g, so 0.2 kg fits once the tube is added. The dozen at 0.8 kg is four tubes plus packaging, which also fits.

Keeping a tube fresh

Pressure leaks once the seal is broken, quicker in heat. Cap the tube after play and keep it out of a hot car. A pressuriser such as the Head x4 slows the leak a little, though no maker gives a figure.

Pack it in a bag with a thermal side, like the Hurricane Pro 4.0 bag, alongside your padel racket.

Who should skip it

Weekly players, who will find a tube runs out quickly and the dozen simpler. And anyone who needs a confirmed FIP-approved ball for a league should ask the organiser, since no listing says.

Not for you if

You need an FIP-approved ball, a stated colour or a confirmed felt type. The listings leave all three open.
