Black Crown Pro Padel Balls Dozen

£16

The Black Crown Pro padel balls dozen is twelve balls, packed as four tubes of three, for players who go through a tube every week or two and would rather not reorder each time. The ball is Black Crown's club-level pro ball, and retailers pitch it at players of any standard.

The name "3 ball dozen" confuses people, so to be clear: it is not three balls. It is four tubes of three. The listings agree on that and disagree on pressure and felt, which the sections below set out.

What you get in a Black Crown Pro dozen

A dozen here follows the retailer's naming: four sealed tubes, three balls in each. Open one tube, play, and the other three stay closed until you need them. That is the whole case for buying this way, since padel balls lose pressure once the seal is broken and sit around no matter how careful you are.

The lower-tier Black Crown One dozen is the same pack shape. The single Black Crown Pro tube is the same ball in one tube. Bulk packs also turn up under names like 3x3 and 24x3, which count tubes, not balls, so read the quantity before comparing prices. The chart shows how each way of buying adds up.

What is published, and what is not

Pressure is the main gap. Most listings call the Pro pressurised and one calls it pressureless, so treat it as a pressurised ball unless the tube says otherwise. Felt is murkier still: two listings give 50% cotton, another a high wool content and another synthetic felt. The wording is marketing, not a lab result, and none of it says whether the figure applies to the felt or the whole ball.

No listing says the ball is approved by the FIP, so we do not claim it. For reference, the FIP spec sets a padel ball at roughly 10 to 11 psi, against about 14 psi for a new tennis ball, which is why a tennis ball bounces too hard in a padel court. If a league or club demands an approved ball, ask them which ones, and check the tube.

Keeping a dozen lively

A fresh tube feels crisp, and the bounce slowly dies as the pressure leaks. Keep unopened tubes cool and out of a hot car, and put the lid back on after you play. A padel ball pressuriser such as the Head x4 helps hold pressure between sessions, though no maker states how much extra life you get.

Our padel balls page covers other brands if you want to compare. For a bag that keeps tubes and rackets away from the heat, the Black Crown Thunder bag has a thermal compartment.

Who should skip the dozen

Players who go out a handful of times a year will not get through twelve balls before they go soft, and a single tube is the better buy. If you need a tour or tournament ball, this is not obviously it, because no listing makes that claim.

Pair the balls with a racket from the Black Crown line or anything in the full padel racket range, and add overgrips from the padel grips page and a pair of padel shoes if you are kitting out.

Not for you if

You play only now and then, you must have an FIP-approved ball, or you need a confirmed felt type. The listings leave pressure and felt open and do not mention approval.

Black Crown Pro Padel Balls Dozen: questions people ask

Is the Black Crown Pro 3 ball dozen only three balls?

No. A dozen is four tubes of three, twelve balls in total. The "3 ball" in the name refers to the size of each tube.

Is the Black Crown Pro dozen the same ball as the single tube?

Yes, listings treat it as the same Pro ball. The dozen is simply four tubes bought together, and the tube is one.

Are Black Crown Pro padel balls pressurised?

Most retailers list them as pressurised and one says pressureless. Check the tube when it arrives if it matters to you.

How should I store a Black Crown Pro dozen?

Keep unopened tubes sealed and cool, away from a hot car. Put the lid back on an opened tube, and consider a pressuriser between sessions.

Are Black Crown Pro balls good for beginners?

Retailers say they suit any type of player. For a first purchase a single tube is cheaper to try, and the dozen makes sense once you play weekly.
