Bullpadel Frame Pro Protector (Pack of 2, Black)

The frame's top edge is where most damage happens: a low volley that drags along the turf, a lob retrieved off the back wall, a racket dropped on the court surround. Retailers describe the Frame Pro as a light, tough strip in a discreet black that takes those scuffs instead of the paint and carbon underneath, without changing the racket's balance in any way you'd feel.

What nobody prints on the listing is the thickness or the length of each piece, so we can't tell you exactly how far round the head it reaches. Check the frame of your racket against the strip before you peel the backing.

A patterned PVC alternative is the Shockout Phantoms guard. Bullpadel sells a few frame protectors that do the same job. The Frame Pro comes as two pieces on an X2 card. The Frame Guard three-pack gives you three black strips, and the older Frame Protector pack is three strips in Bullpadel's previous packaging. If you want weight as well as protection, that's the Custom Weight protector, and clubs fitting a rack of hire rackets can buy a tub of 50 Bullpadel protectors.

Clean the frame with a dry cloth first; grip from the old tape won't let the new one sit flat. Centre the strip on the top of the head, press from the middle outwards to push air out, and leave it overnight before you play. The rules allow protection stuck to the frame as long as it's reasonable in size and position.
