The Bullpadel Frame Guard protector is a pack of three black strips for the top of a padel racket's frame, for anyone who'd rather replace a strip of tape than a chipped racket.

It's the current Bullpadel pack, an X3 card with The Padel Specialist printed along each strip. Three strips last a while: fit one, keep two for when it wears.

Why bother protecting the frame

A padel racket lives dangerously. It gets dug out of the corner, swept along the turf on low balls, and occasionally thrown at a partner's feet in frustration. The frame takes all of it. Padel Shack describes the Frame Guard as an extra layer that shields the frame from scrapes and collisions so the racket lasts longer. It's cheap insurance on something that costs a great deal more.

Retailers list a pack weight of about 50g with packaging, but no strip length or thickness. That's fine for most frames; if your racket has an unusual head shape, hold a strip against it before fitting.

Three strips or two pieces?

The Frame Pro two-pack does the same job in two pieces. The older three-strip Frame Protector is Bullpadel's previous pack. If your racket is light and you'd like it to hit heavier, the Custom Weight 4 x 3 g plates sit on the frame and add weight instead.

How to fit it

Wipe the frame clean, peel the backing a little at a time, and lay the strip centred over the top of the head, pressing outwards from the middle. Give the adhesive a night before you play. Not for you if

You'd rather the protector disappeared on a white or bright racket; a clear film suits that better.

Yes. Frame Guard is the name on the current X3 card; some shops just call it the black frame protector, pack of three.

Will the Bullpadel Frame Guard change how my racket plays?

Retailers say it doesn't change the balance in any way you'd notice; it's a thin strip, not a weight.

Both protect the frame. Frame Guard gives three strips; Frame Pro gives two pieces.
