Head Headband
£5.40
The Head headband is a stretch band for padel and tennis players who want sweat kept out of their eyes, and retailers list code 285080 as 90% nylon and 10% elastane.
It's a basic piece of kit. Tennis Express, Merchant of Tennis and a Polish retailer give the same blend, and one listing says the terry fabric soaks up moisture. Our listing doesn't state a colour.

What the listings agree on
The 285080 comes in white, blue, navy and anthracite at various shops, and the material line is the same everywhere: about 90% polyamide and 10% elastane, with elastic that holds the band in place when you move. One listing adds that the terry fabric absorbs sweat.
Sportano files it under padel, badminton, squash and tennis. We found no width figure, so we don't give one. A cotton alternative is the Raquex sports headbands. It suits anyone whose eyes sting by the third set.
| If you | Look at |
|---|---|
| Want to keep sweat out of your eyes | This Head headband |
| Want a wrist band as a pair | the short 2.5 inch pair |
| Want a long forearm band | the longer 5 inch band |
| Want a drier handle | Padel grips |
| Want to train footwork | Head's footwork ladder |
Not for you if
You want a thick, absorbent towelling band. This is a stretch nylon blend, with only one listing mentioning terry.
Wearing and washing
Sit it just above the eyebrows so it doesn't slide. Wash it cool and let it air-dry, since heat wears out the stretch. Browse the rest of the small kit under padel accessories, and keep a spare in your padel bag.
