Karakal X-Dri Overgrip 3 Pack

£5.70

The Karakal X-Dri overgrip 3 pack is three thin dry-feel overgrips for players who like a non-sticky, absorbent wrap. Padelspeed lists 0.6 mm thickness, a dry feel with a special peach finish and micro-holes.

Karakal is a squash and racket-sport brand, and we found no listing that claims padel fit, though the overgrip is a standard thin wrap that goes over a base grip.

A dry wrap, not a tacky one

Overgrips fall into two camps. Tacky ones such as Babolat's My Overgrip feel sticky, and dry ones hold the hand by absorbing sweat. The X-Dri is the second kind, with a peach-skin finish and micro-holes that Padelspeed describes as a dry feel. At 0.6 mm it is a hair thicker than the thin Babolat wraps.

If you prefer tack, Karakal's X-Tak is the same thickness with a tacky surface.

Bar chart of overgrip thicknesses: Babolat VS Original about 0.43 mm, Babolat My Overgrip 0.55 mm, Karakal X-Dri and X-Tak 0.6 mm

Fitting it on a padel handle

An overgrip goes on top of a base grip, not on a bare handle. Karakal's thicker cushioned base layers, such as the X-Gel, sit underneath, and the padel grips page explains how the layers add up. Check your handle size first, and our guide to choosing a padel racket covers it.

Who should skip it

Players who want a tacky or cushioned grip, and anyone who wants a padel-specific product. The padel accessories range has the rest of the small kit, and the padel racket range lists rackets to put it on.

Not for you if

You want a tacky grip. The X-Dri is the dry one, and Karakal makes no padel claim for it.

Karakal X-Dri Overgrip 3 Pack: questions people ask

How thick is the Karakal X-Dri overgrip?

Is the Karakal X-Dri tacky?

No. It is the dry-feel overgrip, with a peach finish and micro-holes. The X-Tak is the tacky one.

Can I use the Karakal X-Dri on a padel racket?

It is a thin overwrap, so it fits over a base grip on any handle. Karakal makes no padel-specific claim that we found.
