Shockout Comic Racket Protector
£6.66
The Shockout Comic racket protector is a frame guard sold mostly on its looks: a comic-book design stuck along the edge of the racket head to take the scrapes from glass, walls and the floor. A Padel Market summary describes a rough touch with a microgrid texture and an NT adhesive.
The listings we found give no length, width, thickness or weight, so we cannot say how much of the frame it covers. We set out what is published and what a protector can and cannot do.

What the listings say about the Comic protector
It is edge protection for the frame, aimed at impacts and scratches, and the main selling point is the artwork. The surface is described as rough, with a microgrid texture, which keeps the paint safe and gives a little grip if the racket brushes the wall.
The adhesive is called NT in the summary we read. We found no figure for length, width or thickness, and no weight, so we make no claim for them. A thicker protector shields more but adds weight at the head, which matters on a head-heavy racket.

Comic, Phantoms, Serious: one line, several looks
Shockout sells the same kind of rugged protector in several designs. The Phantoms protector is described as PVC that adds no weight, and the Serious protector is the Joker design. A transparent rugged version also exists for players who would rather not see it.
If you want a plain alternative, Black Crown's plain black strip, the HEAD edge tape and the Bullpadel Pro frame protector are covered on their own pages.

Fitting and what a protector does
Clean the frame with a dry cloth, line the protector up from the top edge, and press it down without stretching it. Replace it once it lifts or tears, because a loose strip is no use. It guards the paint against scrapes, but it will not save a frame from a hard crack.
Add a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range, see the whole racket protector range, and the padel racket range for what it goes on. Small kit is on the padel accessories page.
Who should skip it
Players who want a stated size or thickness, anyone who dislikes a loud design, and those who want armour for a racket they throw around. A protector is for scratches.
Not for you if
You need a measured fit or a stated thickness. The listings sell the Comic on its design and give no size.
