A round racket built for comfort and placement

A round head puts the sweet spot in the middle of the face. That is why a round racket is the usual pick for defenders, doubles players who live at the back and anyone whose forearm complains after a long match. Volt rates the 500 V5 as a control racket.

Padelgids describes quick reactions and easy handling, with a blend of manoeuvrability and stability, and says it works for defending from deep or attacking at the net. Padelspeed says it suits developing players and tactical doubles players who value precision over raw smash power. Both are seller descriptions, not independent tests.

Table of where sources differ on the Volt 500 V5: round shape and 3K twill carbon face agree, with 345-365 or 345-355 g, low or medium balance, Comfort or soft EVA core and all levels or intermediate-plus

Weight, balance and the year on our listing

Volt sells its rackets in 5 g weight bands that you pick at checkout, and lists this one at 345 to 365 g. Padelgids narrows it to roughly 345 to 355 g. Our listing title says 2025, but Volt's page puts the V5 in its current range, so we treat it as the V5 and leave the season off the page.

On balance, treat it as head-light and check the box when stock lands. We do not have a measured balance point to give you.

Volt 500, 600 or 700

The Volt 600 V5 keeps the round shape with a 12K face, and the Volt 700 V5 is the medium-balance teardrop. For a child, the Volt 500 Junior is the soft fibreglass version, the older round Volt 800 V4 is the previous generation's control racket, and the Volt 1000 V5 is the high-balance diamond at the other end of the range.

Who should skip the 500 V5

Big hitters who finish points with the smash will find it short on punch. Our control padel rackets page explains the round shape, and the best padel rackets for beginners page lists easier options if you are new.

Add fresh padel balls, an overgrip from our padel grips range, a racket protector and the right padel shoes. Our guide to choosing a padel racket covers weight and balance, and the full padel racket range sits behind it.

Not for you if

You want a heavy smash. A round, head-light racket gives you comfort and placement, not punch.
