ASICS Gel-Resolution X Clay Women's Shoes

ASICS aims the Resolution at tournament players who want durability and stability, and the women's clay version carries every piece of that. GEL and FlyteFoam Blast sit in the midsole, DYNAWALL has been reworked for comfort and less twisting, the medial collar is raised, and DYNALACING locks the midfoot. Tennis Warehouse Europe weighs it at 382 g at a US 8.5. That's well over the 261 g of the ASICS Game FF Padel women's at the same size.

Players who move hard, slide into shots or want extra support around the ankle will appreciate the weight. Lighter, occasional players will probably prefer something nimbler.

The outsole is full-length AHAR Plus rubber with a full herringbone tread, pivot points and a PGuard toe protector. Herringbone is cut to bite through loose material and shed it, which is why clay-court tennis shoes work on sand-dressed padel turf and why our padel shoes guide calls them padel shoes with a different label. The older Gel-Challenger 13 Clay takes the same clay-sole approach from an earlier Challenger generation.

That said, ASICS makes a women's Gel-Resolution X Padel with a padel-specific sole, and if you only play padel it's the one built for the job. The men's version of this shoe is the Gel-Resolution X Clay.

Tennis Warehouse Europe lists it as true to size, a snug medium width and a low arch, and says it needs a break-in. Wear them for a couple of light sessions before a match. On the women's chart a UK 3.5 is 22.75 cm and a UK 9 is 27.5 cm; our listing runs UK 4 to 9. If your arch is high, the low arch may need an insole.
