Babolat Ball Pick Up Tube

£29.95

The Babolat ball pick up tube is a tube for scooping padel or tennis balls off the court without bending down, for players who hit a basket of balls in practice or simply have a bad back. Most retailers list a capacity of 14 balls.

Other listings say 15 or 16, and Babolat's own capacity figure was not available to us, so treat 14 as the sensible planning number.

How many balls it holds

Three retailers, Racket Central, Padelkiwi and Decathlon, list 14 balls. Desertcart says 15 and Tennis Warehouse Europe says 16. The spread is small, and a padel ball is slightly smaller than a tennis ball, so a tube that holds 14 tennis balls will take a similar count of padel balls. A standard can of three is a fraction of that, so one trip covers several cans.

Which product is this?

Retailers call it the Ball Tube or the Ball Pick Up Tube, and Decathlon lists a pick up tube under a Babolat name. Do not confuse it with the Babolat Court Padel 3-ball tube, which is a container sold with three balls. This is the accessory that collects balls, and it suits both sports. For balls to put in it, see the padel balls page the Babolat Ace balls, or a single Ace tube to try first.

A bottle such as Babolat's drinks bottle is the other practice-session staple, and Toolz's PVC pick up tube is a 16-ball alternative. Other training and court kit sits in our padel accessories range, and a bag with room for it is on the padel bags page. Our guide to choosing a padel racket covers the rest of the kit.

Who should skip it

Players who only play a match and pick up three balls at the end. A tube helps most in practice and lessons, and a medium towel or a Jumbo wristband is the kit that matters more in a match. The tube is also long, so it will not fit most racket bags, which is something to weigh before you buy.

You want a published, tested capacity. The figure here comes from retailers and varies by one or two balls.

Babolat Ball Pick Up Tube: questions people ask

How many balls does the Babolat Ball Pick Up Tube hold?

Most retailers list 14. Desertcart says 15 and Tennis Warehouse Europe says 16.

Can the Babolat pick up tube be used for padel balls?

Retailers market it for both sports, and a padel ball is a little smaller than a tennis ball, so it should work for padel.

Is the Babolat Ball Pick Up Tube the same as the Babolat Ball Tube?

Retailers use both names for what looks like the same accessory. We have not seen a Babolat page that says so.

Is the Babolat pick up tube the same as the Court Padel ball tube?

No. The Court Padel 3-ball tube is a container that comes with three balls. The pick up tube collects balls from the floor.
