How a pick up tube works
You push the open end down over a ball and it clicks into the tube, so a coach can clear a basket of balls without bending. The listing describes an easy mechanism and a neck strap to carry it, and gives the capacity as sixteen balls.
Babolat's pick up tube and Bullpadel's pick up tube are the padel-brand alternatives, and the Dunlop's collector tube is another, though Dunlop states no capacity, and the taller Tourna All Ball tube is a tennis-style option listed at about twenty balls.
Using it for padel
Padel balls are the same diameter range as tennis balls, but we found no statement from Toolz that the tube suits them, so ask the seller if it matters. A tube helps most in a coaching lesson, when a basket of balls ends up in the corners. Fresh balls from the padel balls range keep the lesson consistent, and the padel accessories range has more small kit.
Who should skip it
Casual players who play with one tube of three, since a 16-ball collector is more than they need. Choose your padel racket first, and our guide to choosing a padel racket covers the basics.
