Dunlop Pick Up Tube

£20.74

The Dunlop pick up tube is a ball collector for padel and tennis balls: you press the open end over a ball and the tube holds it, so you can clear a basket of balls at the end of a session without bending down for each one. It suits coaches and anyone who practises serves alone.

Dunlop's own range page calls its version a telescopic ball collector tube and describes it as lightweight, but it gives no capacity, length or material in the part we could read. We say so here so you are not guessing.

What Dunlop says about its tube

On Dunlop's UK range page the product is a telescopic ball collector tube, listed in the Slinger padel line, and the one line of description is that it is a lightweight tool that makes collecting balls quick. That is all we could confirm. We could not open the full page, so length, material, colour and a ball count are unknown to us.

Our listing calls it a ball pick up tube without the word telescopic. We think it is the same item, but we have not been able to prove it, so check before you order if collapsed length matters for your bag.

A longer alternative with a stated capacity is the Vibor-A ball pick up tube.

How many balls does a pick up tube hold?

Capacity is the number that separates a good tube from a fiddly one, and other brands publish it. Tennis Warehouse Europe lists the Oxdog tube at up to 16 padel balls and the adidas Speed RX at up to 24. The Toolz pick up tube is listed at 16 balls and 104 cm.

Dunlop gives no figure, so treat any number you read elsewhere for this tube as unconfirmed. If you want a published capacity, the Toolz is the plain choice, and the Bullpadel pick up tube and Nox pickup tube are the two other brand tubes we list.

Using a tube with your padel balls

A tube clears a court faster than hands do, and it saves your back if you hit a lot of serves. It does not keep balls fresh: once a can is open the pressure falls whether the balls sit in a tube or not, so store them in a ball pressuriser afterwards. If you are stocking up for practice, our padel ball range and the cheaper coaching option in the Dunlop Team balls are the natural pairing.

More small kit that makes sessions easier is on the padel accessories page.

Who should skip it

Anyone who needs to know the tube's length or capacity before buying, and players who only ever open one can at a time and can pick up three balls by hand. If your next purchase is a racket, start with our guide to choosing a padel racket.

Not for you if

You need a published ball capacity or collapsed length, which Dunlop does not give on the page we could read.

Dunlop Pick Up Tube: questions people ask

Is the Dunlop pick up tube the same as the telescopic ball collector tube?

Probably. Dunlop lists a telescopic ball collector tube in its Slinger padel range, and our listing is titled a ball pick up tube. We could not confirm it with Dunlop.

How many balls does the Dunlop pick up tube hold?

Dunlop does not state a capacity on the page we could read. Other brand tubes list 16 to 24 balls, so do not assume the same figure.

Does a Dunlop pick up tube work for tennis balls as well?

Dunlop describes it as a tool for collecting tennis or padel balls, so yes, both are named.

Does a pick up tube keep padel balls pressurised?

No. A pick up tube only collects balls. Use a ball pressuriser to slow pressure loss once a can is open.

Is a pick up tube worth it for casual players?

Only if you practise alone or collect many balls. For one can of three, picking them up by hand is quicker.
