Babolat Padel Wrist Strap

£8.25

The Babolat Padel Wrist Strap is a replacement racket leash for players whose original has frayed or snapped. One retailer lists the cord as 75% polyester, 10% nylon and 15% neoprene, with the neoprene there for skin comfort.

No length is published in anything we found. Fit depends on your racket, so read the compatibility notes below before you buy.

Will it fit your racket?

One retailer says the strap is a replacement for rackets with the Babolat Smart Buttcap System, and names the Viper, Veron, Vertuo, Energy and Spirit ranges. On older rackets, the original cord has to be cut and tied into a loop first. We have not tested this, and a racket from another brand may use a different butt cap, so check the handle of the racket you own.

Retailers describe the strap as washable and interchangeable, and the loop adjusts to the size of your wrist.

Why a leash matters in padel

In a glass box with three other players, a racket that leaves your hand on a smash is a hazard. A leash keeps it on your wrist. Replace it as soon as the cord frays, and keep the rest of the kit in order too: a fresh overgrip from the padel grips page and a racket protector for the head. The Viper line, including the Viper Juan Lebron 3.1, is on that retailer's compatibility list, though check your own handle.

The full padel accessories range has the other small parts.

Who should skip it

Players whose racket is not a Babolat, or whose current strap is fine. If the end of the cord is the only part that has gone, a loop of cord tied correctly may do. The Logo wristband is a sweat band, not a leash, so do not mix the two.

Not for you if

You need a confirmed length or a guaranteed fit for a non-Babolat racket. Neither is published, so check the butt cap first.
