Babolat Viper Juan Lebron 3.1 Padel Racket

£340

The Babolat Viper Juan Lebron 3.1 is Babolat's flagship attacking racket and the newest version of Juan Lebron's signature Viper: a head-heavy diamond for advanced, competitive players with an offensive game. Babolat's sheet lists 370 g (give or take 10), a 38 mm profile, a 3K carbon face on a carbon frame and a hard EVA core, with the Dynamic Stability System, a reinforced central bar, for stiffness and control.

It belongs to Babolat's Juan Lebron collection, which Babolat dates 2026 and many European shops list as 2027. The 3.1 follows the 3.0, because Babolat numbers its rackets by version rather than year.

It is also new. We could not find an independent test, so this page sticks to what Babolat publishes and says plainly where the picture is incomplete.

What Babolat publishes about the Viper Juan Lebron 3.1

Babolat's UK page gives the numbers: diamond head, head-heavy balance, 370 g with a 10 g tolerance, 38 mm thickness, a 3K carbon surface, a carbon frame and a hard EVA core. The player typology is technical striker, the recommended grip is Syntec Pro, and the racket is described as built for strong, fast shots by advanced competitive players. Raised surface patterns are there for spin.

The one disagreement among sources is the core. Babolat says hard EVA; one European retailer's page says X-EVA, and calls the core one of the hardest in the Babolat range. We follow Babolat's own sheet. The same retailer notes that it is still waiting for stock to measure, which is a fair summary of the situation across the market.

Viper Juan Lebron 3.1 or Technical Viper 3.0?

On paper they are almost the same racket. Both are 370 g diamonds with a 3K carbon face, a hard EVA core, the Dynamic Stability System and a Syntec Pro grip, and both are aimed at advanced attackers. One difference on the sheets is that the Technical Viper 3.0 lists a Carbon Power Layer inside its core and the Lebron 3.1 page does not.

Whether that, or any other change, shows up on court is something nobody has measured yet. One retailer says the 3.1 keeps the same diamond shape and head-heavy character as its predecessor, which suggests an evolution rather than a redesign. If you want the racket that has been tested, the Technical Viper 3.0 is the one with reviews behind it, and the Technical Viper Soft 3.0 is its gentler sibling. The lightest racket in the Lebron 3.1 line is the Veron Juan Lebron 3.1, and the limited-edition BL.002 is Babolat's collector racket, with a bronze version too.

Where the Lebron 3.1 sits in the Viper line

Babolat's Viper line climbs from a control round racket to the power diamonds, and the Lebron racket is at the top. The older Viper Juan Lebron 3.0 is the previous version, the softer Viper Soft Juan Lebron 3.1 is the gentler sibling, and the Counter Viper 2.6 sits at the other end as the round control racket. The Viper Juan Lebron 3.0 FW is a further 3.0 listing with no test behind it.

Who should skip the Viper Juan Lebron 3.1

Nearly everyone who is not an advanced, offensive player. A head-heavy 370 g diamond with a hard core is built for strong shoulders and early contact, and untested rackets are a risk for anyone who cannot demo first. If you are still developing, the best padel racket for intermediate players page has much friendlier choices.

Defensive players should look at the control padel rackets page, where round frames do the opposite job.

Not for you if

You have an arm that complains, play from the back, or want to read a few independent reviews first. A hard core on a head-heavy diamond passes shock to the arm, and there are not yet independent scores for this racket. The diamond padel rackets page lists tested alternatives.

Setting up a Viper Juan Lebron 3.1

Babolat recommends its Syntec Pro grip. A cushioned replacement or a tacky overgrip such as the Babolat VS overgrip takes the edge off a hard racket, and our padel grips page explains the difference. Fit frame tape from the racket protector range before the first match; a 370 g head meets the floor hard. If you want to fine-tune the weight, Babolat Balancer 3*3 tape adds 3, 6 or 9 g, Babolat Super Tape is the slimmer frame guard (or ProtecPro 2.0 if you want it clear), and a worn leash can be replaced with the Babolat padel wrist strap.

Fresh balls help a hard racket feel less harsh, so a box of Babolat Ace balls is a natural partner for match play, and the padel balls page explains how fast a tube loses life. The Babolat RH Pro bag will carry it, the padel bags page has alternatives, and court shoes are on our padel shoes page, including the Lebron edition Jet Premura 2.

What is the difference between the Viper Juan Lebron 3.1 and the 3.0?

Is the Viper Juan Lebron 3.1 the same as the Technical Viper 3.0?
