What it is for
A padel racket meets the glass, the fence and the floor with its head, and the edge of the frame is where the paint goes first. A transparent strip sits over that edge and takes the scuffs, and unlike a coloured tape it does not change the racket's look.
Babolat's other frame guard, Super Tape, is a black elastic strip in packs of five. ProtecPro is the clear alternative, and the racket protector range lists the other styles.
Fitting it
Clean the frame with a dry cloth first, then press the strip over the edge of the head and smooth it down. A new racket such as the Viper Juan Lebron 3.1 is the best candidate, since you protect it before it is scuffed. If you also want to change the balance, the Balancer 3*3 tape is the weight option, and the padel grips page covers the handle.
Who should skip it
Players who already have a thick bumper and do not scrape the head, and anyone who wants known dimensions before buying. Another clear guard, with no size published, is the Shockout transparent protector. The full padel racket range lists rackets that come with protection.
