Bullpadel GB-1201 Overgrip Fluorescent Pink (Pack of 3)

£4.99

This Bullpadel GB-1201 overgrip fluorescent pink pack holds three of the brand's micro-perforated, sweat-absorbing overgrips, for players who want a grip that copes with damp hands and a handle nobody else in the club will mistake for theirs.

The GB-1201 is not the same grip as the better-known GB-1200. The pack calls it a Comfort/Absorbent overgrip with HaC, Bullpadel's humidity-absorption finish, and the tape is pricked with tiny holes to give sweat somewhere to go.

GB-1201, not GB-1200

The codes are one digit apart and the packs look alike, so they're easy to mix up. Padel Nuestro describes the GB-1201 as polyurethane, with a surface it calls smooth, strong on grip and comfortable against rubbing. The pack adds the detail that matters: it's micro-perforated and carries the HaC absorption label. Both grips are listed at 0.5mm (Tennis Nuts gives the GB-1201's figure); the difference is the perforations, which nobody mentions on the GB-1200.

In practice, perforations help sweaty hands. The tiny holes pull moisture away from the palm and give your fingers a little texture to hold. If your hands stay dry, the plain GB-1200 Comfort is the simpler choice, and if pink isn't your colour, the same GB-1201 comes in black.

When to pick another grip

Perforated grips usually give out a little sooner than solid ones, because they split along the holes, and pink shows grime faster than black. Neither is a reason to avoid it if you change your grip every week or two anyway.

Not for you if

You want a tacky grip for cold, dry indoor sessions, or you'd rather a solid tape that won't split along perforations.

Fitting it

Start at the butt cap, keep a third of each turn overlapping the last, and finish with the tape in the pack. It goes over the base grip of any padel racket; if that base layer is worn flat, a fresh replacement grip such as the Bullpadel GR-1210 underneath brings the cushioning back.

Bullpadel GB-1201 Overgrip Fluorescent Pink (Pack of 3): questions people ask

Is the Bullpadel GB-1201 the same as the GB-1200?

No. Both are 0.5mm with HaC absorption, but the GB-1201 is micro-perforated polyurethane, while no perforations are mentioned for the GB-1200 Comfort.

Is the pink Bullpadel GB-1201 good for sweaty hands?

Yes. The micro-perforations and HaC finish are there to soak up moisture. For very sweaty hands, add a wristband to stop sweat reaching the grip at all.

GB-1201 pink or GB-1200 yellow: which should I buy?

Both are bright three-packs. Both are 0.5mm. Pick the perforated GB-1201 if your hands sweat; the GB-1200 if you'd rather a solid tape.

How long does a Bullpadel GB-1201 overgrip last?

No maker publishes a figure. Change it when it goes shiny, slips or starts to split along the perforations, which for a twice-a-week player is usually every week or two.

How many overgrips are in the Bullpadel GB-1201 pink pack?

Three, as the X3 on the pack says.
