Bullpadel Icon 26V Mens Padel Shoes

8 · £72

The Bullpadel Icon 26V mens padel shoes carry Juan Martín Díaz's name: a tribute to one of the sport's great champions rather than a current pro's match shoe, since Díaz retired from top-level padel back in 2014 after 13 straight seasons at world No.1. The shoe itself is built for intermediate players who want cushioning through a long session, with a synthetic leather and mesh upper over a ROTOX pivot sole.

Don't confuse it with the Ionic, a completely different Bullpadel shoe that shows up in some of the same searches.

What Bullpadel confirms

The outsole uses Bullpadel's ROTOX pivot system, built for turning quickly without the foot catching on the court; one retailer names a different sole, "X-Ground," on its listing, which doesn't match what two other retailers say, so we're going with ROTOX. The upper is synthetic leather and mesh, aimed at players who want some structure without the stiffness of a full leather shoe.

No retailer publishes a weight for the Icon specifically. A couple of searches turn up weights for the Ionic, a different Bullpadel shoe with a similar-sounding name, and we're not borrowing those figures for a shoe they don't belong to.

Icon or Ionic? Two different shoes

Bullpadel's naming makes this an easy mix-up. The Icon honours Juan Martín Díaz and this is that shoe. The Ionic is a separate line with no connection to Díaz, built differently and sold at a different price. If a search result quotes a weight or a feature for "the Bullpadel Icon" that sounds oddly specific, check whether it's actually describing the Ionic before you trust it. For the Icon itself, the autumn/winter Icon 26I has the fuller published spec, including a Mid Stab arch stabiliser, and comes down to a UK 7.

Who it suits

Intermediate players who are on court regularly enough to want more cushioning than an entry shoe, and who like the idea of wearing a tribute to one of padel's most decorated champions rather than a current tour pro's boot. It's a sensible match for the Bullpadel Icon racket or last season's Icon 26, both of which carry the same name and the same honour, though nothing stops you pairing it with any racket you like. The full padel shoes range covers every brand we stock, and our guide to choosing a padel racket is the place to start if the racket side still needs deciding.

Not for you if

You want a confirmed weight before buying, or you train most days and need a firmer, Vibram-soled shoe. The Vertex Vibram or Hack Vibram publish more detail and are built for heavier use.

Setting up and fit

Bullpadel's own sizing runs about a size small against ASICS or HEAD, so if you're between sizes, go up rather than down. A grippy, low-cut sock suits the mesh upper better than a thick running sock, and a Karakal performance insole adds cushioning if you're on court for long sessions. For the racket side of the kit, our padel racket range and the padel grip and padel balls pages cover the rest.

Bullpadel Icon 26V Mens Padel Shoes: questions people ask

Is the Bullpadel Icon the same as the Bullpadel Ionic?

No. These are two separate Bullpadel shoes with similar-sounding names. The Icon is the Juan Martín Díaz tribute line; the Ionic is an unrelated model with no connection to Díaz.

Does Juan Martín Díaz still play in the Bullpadel Icon 26V?

No, he retired from top-level padel in 2014. The Icon line is a tribute to his career rather than a current pro's match shoe.

Is the Bullpadel Icon 26V shoe the same as the Bullpadel Icon racket?

No, they're separate products that share the same tribute name. The racket is a heavy 12K diamond; this is a padel shoe.

How heavy is the Bullpadel Icon 26V?

No retailer publishes a weight for this shoe. Figures you may see for a Bullpadel Icon elsewhere usually belong to the Ionic, a different model.

What outsole does the Bullpadel Icon 26V use?

Bullpadel's ROTOX pivot system, built for quick turns. One retailer listing names a different sole, which looks inconsistent with what other retailers say.
