The Bullpadel Frame Uni protector is a single strip of clear-to-white protective tape for the frame of a padel racket, for players who want to stop scuffs without covering up the racket's colours.

Padel Nuestro lists it as white; the card in our photo reads Frame Protector TR, and the strip looks clear. On a light racket you'll barely see it either way, which is the reason to pick it over the black strips.

Why clear tape

Black frame protectors suit dark rackets. On a white or pastel frame, a black band across the top is hard to miss. A clear or white strip does the same job, taking the scrapes from the floor and the knocks off the walls, and mostly disappears. Padel Nuestro says it's built to resist impacts, friction and scratches, fits most racket shapes, and is light enough not to change the balance.

Fitting a clear strip

Clear tape shows trapped air and fingerprints more than black does, so be fussy. Clean the frame with a dry cloth, peel a short length of backing, and lay it from the middle of the head outwards, smoothing as you go. Leave it overnight before you play. Very little. It's a clear-to-white strip, which is why it suits light-coloured rackets better than black tape.
