Dunlop Padel Protection Tape (3 Strips)
£5.79
Dunlop padel protection tape is a set of three adhesive strips that go on the racket frame to guard it against knocks from the court floor and glass walls, in black or transparent. Tennis Warehouse Europe says the set fits any size padel racket.
Length, thickness, adhesive type and added weight are not published, so we cannot say how much a strip weighs or how long it lasts. Dunlop sells it in black and in transparent, and shops also call the transparent set Pro Tape X3.

What the Dunlop protection tape is
Retailers describe a pack of three protectors that shield the frame against damage and wear, so the racket keeps its performance for longer. iPon says its transparent set protects the head and the strip without changing the balance, which is seller wording, not a measurement.
The tape comes in transparent (SKU 623794 on one listing) and black, which Tennis Warehouse Europe labels Black/White in the title and Black in the overview. Dunlop's own padel rackets such as the FX Team are the kind of frame it is meant for.

Fitting it, and what it does to balance
Clean the frame, then lay the strips along the top of the head where a racket hits the floor or glass, trimming at the edges. A protector adds a few grams in the head, so it nudges the balance a little head-heavy. Dunlop publishes no weight, and we will not guess one.
If you want a thicker guard for a hard hitter, see the other protectors on the padel racket protector page. Pair it with a racket cover for transport, and see more padel accessories for grips and bags.
| Option | What it does | Pick it if |
|---|---|---|
| Protection tape (this page) | Adhesive frame strips, set of 3 | You want a light guard on the frame |
| Racket cover | Protects in transit | You carry one racket |
| Nanomax Lite | A forgiving first racket | You are protecting a new racket |
Details from the retailer pages in the sources.
Who should skip it
Players who want a published weight and thickness before they add anything to a racket, and anyone who needs a thicker pad. If you are still choosing a racket, see our padel racket range and our guide to choosing a padel racket.
Not for you if
You need a stated thickness or weight, or you want a thick shock-absorbing pad rather than a thin strip.
