Dunlop FX Team Padel Racket (2026)

£115.99

The Dunlop FX Team padel racket is the middle diamond of Dunlop's 2026 FX range: about 365 g with an even balance, a carbon face and frame and a Pro EVA core, made for intermediate and advancing players who want to attack. Tennisnuts says it carries features from the dearer FX Pro.

Padelful scores power at 9.5, control and rebound at 8, manoeuvrability at 7.5 and sweet spot at 6.5. That is real attacking punch with a small margin for mishits. The two sources we read agree on almost everything.

What the FX Team is

Tennisnuts lists a diamond head, a medium and even balance, a premium carbon frame and face with a graphite-look surface, a Pro EVA core, a 38 mm profile and a rough texture for grip and spin. It names no proprietary technology, but says the racket incorporates features from the higher-end FX Pro.

FX is Dunlop's 2026 range and replaces Galactica, so this racket takes the slot that last season's Galactica Team held. The shape has changed from hybrid to diamond, so do not assume it plays the same.

How it plays: attacking, quick at the net, small sweet spot

Padelful lists quick handling in volley exchanges, a firm and stable attacking volley and penetrating bandejas and víboras. The racket suits players who want to finish points and press at the net, and it wants committed swings and clean contact. A Tennisnuts staff review calls it a solid blend of power and playability for progressing players who like to dictate.

The cons are the usual ones for a small-sweet-spot diamond. Mishits are punished, defence gets limited ball exit and passive blocks lack depth from the baseline. If you spend the match defending, it will not do the work for you.

What the sources say

Tennisnuts and Padelful both say diamond, carbon, Pro EVA, medium balance and intermediate to advanced. Weight is 365 g with a 10 g tolerance on one and 360 and 370 g on the other, which is the same racket within spread. Neither gives a balance in millimetres.

One detail is worth noticing. On Padelful, the FX Team scores higher than the heavier FX Pro for power (9.5 against 9.0) and manoeuvrability, and lower for sweet spot. On paper, the Team is the livelier and less forgiving of the two, not simply a cheaper Pro.

FX Team or another Dunlop

For a bit more weight in the head choose the FX Pro, and for a softer, lighter diamond look at the FX Lite. The FX Hybrid Team is the hybrid version at the same level, the FX Junior is the kids' version, and the older Tristorm Lite is an older, lighter diamond. If you want last season's gentler shape, the Galactica Team is the even-balance hybrid it replaces.

Who should skip the FX Team

Beginners and defenders, and anyone who hates a small sweet spot. A diamond that punishes mishits is the wrong tool for a developing swing, and our beginner padel rackets page lists better starting points. If you want a bigger margin for error at the same level, compare the options on our teardrop and hybrid padel rackets page.

Not for you if

You make a lot of off-centre contact, you defend more than you attack or you are new to padel. Padelful gives the sweet spot 6.5 and lists limited ball exit on defence as a con.

Setting it up

Fit a racket protector, such as the Dunlop protection tape, and keep a fresh overgrip from our padel grips range handy. Play with good padel balls and wear proper padel shoes, and the Dunlop FX Team bag or any other padel bag carries it.

Dunlop FX Team Padel Racket (2026): questions people ask

Is the Dunlop FX Team a cheaper FX Pro?

Not quite. It is lighter at 365 g against 370 g, has an even balance and, on Padelful, scores higher for power and manoeuvrability and lower for sweet spot.

Is the Dunlop FX Team good for intermediate players?

Yes, strong ones. Both Tennisnuts and Padelful rate it intermediate to advanced, though the small sweet spot punishes mishits.

Is the Dunlop FX Team the same as the Galactica Team?

No. It takes the same slot in the range for 2026, but it is a diamond with a Pro EVA core, while the Galactica Team was a 2025 hybrid with a soft Performance EVA core.

How heavy is the Dunlop FX Team?

Tennisnuts lists 365 g with a 10 g tolerance, and Padelful lists 360 and 370 g.

Does the Dunlop FX Team have a big sweet spot?

No. Padelful scores it 6.5, the lowest of its ratings, and lists punished mishits as a con.

Is the Dunlop FX Team a diamond or a hybrid?

A diamond. The hybrid in the range is the FX Hybrid Team, a separate racket.
