Dunlop FX Junior Padel Racket (2026)

£51.99

The Dunlop FX Junior padel racket is a lightweight hybrid for young players and beginners: about 335 g, a medium even balance, a soft EVA core, a lightweight graphite frame and a thin 36 mm profile. Tennisnuts lists it for juniors and beginners and says the soft core helps reduce arm fatigue.

The listing does not give an age range, a height guide, an overall length or a face material, which are the details a parent most wants. We set out what is stated and what to check before you buy.

What the FX Junior is

Tennisnuts describes a hybrid head that balances power and control, a lightweight graphite frame, a soft EVA core for comfort and less vibration and a straight holes system for shot precision. At 36 mm it is a slimmer frame than the 38 mm of most adult rackets, which keeps the weight down.

It sits in Dunlop's 2026 FX range next to the adult FX rackets, and it carries the same counter-attacking label as them. For a child that mostly means it is built for an attacking style, not that it needs one.

Is it the right size for your child?

Tennisnuts gives no age or height guidance, so match the racket to the child rather than the label. A racket that is too heavy ends up swung with the shoulder, and a child that cannot control the head will not enjoy the court. If you are unsure, have them swing it for a minute before deciding, and look at our kids' padel rackets page for lighter options.

Our own fitting guide puts a racket of 320 to 340 g in the 11 to 13 band, for children about 140 to 155 cm tall. That is our guide, not Dunlop's, and no governing body sets one. Dunlop's 2025 Galactica Junior is listed at 330 g, and Head, Bullpadel and Babolat all make junior rackets in our range.

FX Junior or another Dunlop

The Galactica Junior is last season's version. Some shops sell this FX Junior under a gun metal and cyan colour name; it is the same racket. For an adult beginner, the FX Start is the entry FX racket, and the Nanomax Lite is a light hybrid at about 350 g.

Not for you if

Your child is very young or small and needs a shorter, lighter racket. The listing gives no age or length guidance.
