Karakal Pro Tour 30 2.2 Backpack

£27

The Karakal Pro Tour 30 2.2 backpack is a 30 litre racket backpack for players who want one rucksack for a racket, shoes and a change of kit. Retailers list it at 50 x 30 x 20 cm with a top racket pocket, a front wet/dry compartment, a valuables pocket, a side bottle pocket and an elasticated stash pocket.

Karakal is a squash and racket-sport brand. We found no padel claim for this bag, and one retailer files it under squash, so it suits padel only as far as a single racket and a kit change go.

What a 30 litre backpack carries

Thirty litres is a day bag. It will take a racket in the top pocket, a pair of shoes and a change of kit, with the wet/dry front compartment keeping a damp shirt away from the rest. The side pocket holds a bottle, and the soft valuables pocket is where a phone and keys go.

What it will not do is carry a full match kit for two. With a racket only in the top pocket, a second racket has to sit in the main space. If you take two or more rackets regularly, the Fifty 2.2 Short bag holds up to four.

Does it suit padel?

Padel rackets are shorter and fatter than a tennis racket, but a single racket fits any bag with a racket pocket, and the footprint is small enough for a commute. Karakal makes no padel-specific claim that we found, so check the pocket length against your racket. Our padel bags page lists bags sold for the sport, with a thermal pocket on some.

For a padel-first backpack, Babolat's Court S bag is the nearest alternative here, and the padel accessories range has the small kit to fill it.

Who should skip it

Players who carry two or more rackets, or who want a bag made for padel. The earlier Fifty 2.1 is a longer, flatter alternative. Pick the padel racket you play with first, then size the bag around it, and our guide to choosing a padel racket explains the dimensions.

Not for you if

You want a bag for padel with several rackets in it. This is a single-racket day backpack, and Karakal makes no padel claim for it.
