What the contour ridge does
A raised ridge down the length of the grip gives your fingers something to find, so your hand lands in the same place without you looking. Karakal calls it concealed because it sits under the surface rather than standing proud, and the breathing holes keep the grip from feeling sealed.
That makes the X-Rip the technical option in the range, next to the padded X-Air and the thick X-Gel.

Fitting it
Wrap from the butt cap, keeping the ridge on the same side as your bevels, and finish with a thin overgrip such as the tacky X-Tak. The padel grips page explains the layers, and our guide to choosing a padel racket covers handle size.
Who should skip it
Players who dislike any feeling under the hand, and anyone who wants a published thickness. The padel accessories range has alternatives, and the full padel racket range lists the rackets to fit it to.
Not for you if
You want a smooth handle or a measured size. The X-Rip has a ridge and no thickness is published.
