Nox Frame Protector for Padel Rackets

£6

The Nox frame protector is an adhesive strip for a padel racket, sold in a clear embossed finish and in black or blue with a white Nox logo, for players who would rather replace a strip of tape than a chipped frame. The packs are labelled "Protector de marco", which is Spanish for frame protector.

Our listing is the family page for all three finishes. If you want the blue one specifically, there is a separate blue listing.

Clear, black or blue?

Padelkiwi lists the clear one with an embossed finish and 3M adhesive tape, and a second retailer gives its strip as 3.5 x 12.2 cm. The black and blue strips carry a white Nox logo. Nobody we found publishes the size, thickness or material for black or blue, so treat the clear dimensions as a guide only.

Choose clear if you'd like the protector to vanish on a bright racket, black if the frame is dark, and blue if you want the logo to show against a blue or white face.

Fitting it and what it does

Wipe the top of the frame clean and dry, peel the backing a little at a time and lay the strip over the head, pressing outwards from the middle so it doesn't wrinkle. Leave it overnight before you play. It won't change how the racket plays; the rules let you stick items to a racket to limit wear if they're reasonable in size and position.

For a patterned guard, see Shockout's lightweight Phantoms protector. A protector earns its keep on low volleys and when you pick the racket off the floor with your foot. It's cheap insurance on a frame that may have cost far more. Other brands' strips and tapes are on our padel racket protector page.

Not for you if

You want a pack of several strips or a heavier weight-adding plate. Look at the Bullpadel Frame Guard pack of three, which is sold as three strips.

Where to use one

Any frame will do, but a protector matters most on a racket you've just bought, such as Tapia's AT10 Genius 18K Alum. A fresh overgrip from the padel grip range finishes the job, and the whole padel racket range is a click away.

Nox Frame Protector for Padel Rackets: questions people ask

What colours does the Nox protector come in?

Retailers list a clear embossed one, a black one and a blue one, with a white Nox logo on the coloured strips.

How big is the Nox protector?

One retailer gives 3.5 x 12.2 cm for the clear strip. We could not find sizes for the black or blue.

Will a Nox protector change the balance of my racket?

Not noticeably; it is a thin adhesive strip. If you want weight as well as protection, use a weight plate instead.

How long does a Nox protector last?

Nox publishes no figure. Replace it when it lifts or tears, which for a regular player is a few weeks to a few months depending on how often the frame hits the floor.
