Pallap Evoforce Dark Star Padel Racket

£161.02

The Pallap Evoforce Dark Star padel racket is a teardrop weighing 360 to 365g, built around a tri-layer foam core and a Carbon Pura 12K CX face, for players who want raw smashing power over manoeuvrability.

It's the heavier of Pallap's two Evoforce Star rackets, and a genuinely different build from its lighter sibling, not just a few extra grams in the same frame.

Dark Star vs Bright Star: a different racket, not just heavier

Retailer listings treat the two Star rackets as a weight choice within the same frame, but a review from padel-magazine.co.uk shows they're built differently throughout. Bright Star uses an Impulse 2 Layer core (an EVA foam paired with a separate PN layer) and a 15K Alumatrix Carbon face. Dark Star uses what Pallap calls 3VA foam in a 28/40/28 tri-layer construction, with a rigid central section, and a different face material, Carbon Pura 12K CX, on a Dual Carbon frame reinforced with something Pallap brands 3D Lightning.

The result, per that review, is a racket built for raw efficiency: powerful smashes and a lively response off the face that doesn't go dead on a dry, slower-paced shot. It's a deliberately different tool from Bright Star, not a heavier version of the same one. Oddly, the Impulse 2 Layer core Bright Star uses turns up again on the Evoforce Elite, a tier up, rather than on Dark Star, so the tier names don't map neatly onto shared technology.

Head-heavy, and a tag we need to flag

Tennis Warehouse Europe measures the balance at 255 to 260mm, slightly higher up the frame than Bright Star's 250 to 255mm, and a review describes the feel as head-heavy but manageable rather than extreme. Our own catalogue tag for this racket currently says low balance, which conflicts with both of those independent sources. We're flagging it here rather than quietly rewriting our own tag or pretending the conflict doesn't exist; treat the head-heavy description as the better-supported one until we can check a unit against the box.

How heavy it actually is

Most sources agree on 360 to 365g, matching Tennis Warehouse Europe and the UK stockist's own listing. One 2026-dated retail page gives a wider window of 360 to 375g, which may include a newer production run or simply a looser tolerance; we've gone with the narrower, more widely supported figure.

Who should buy it

Advanced players with a committed swing who want a racket that rewards hitting the ball hard: finishers at the net, players who smash often, and anyone who found the Evoforce Bright Star too light to put real weight behind the ball. Our advanced padel rackets page sets it against Bullpadel, Siux, Varlion and Oxdog's equivalents.

Not for you if

You're still building a consistent swing, or your arm doesn't get on with a head-heavy racket. A tri-layer core with a rigid centre gives little back on a soft or mistimed shot. Try the lighter Evoforce Bright Star first, or a round racket from our control padel racket page.

Setting it up

A head-heavy racket benefits from a protector fitted early; see our padel racket protector range. An overgrip from padel grip adds a little weight back at the handle if the balance feels too extreme out of the box.

Pair it with fresh balls from our padel balls range and a padel bag with a thermal pocket. Add padel shoes for sand-filled turf, see the full padel racket range, and our guide on how to choose a padel racket if you're still deciding between shapes.

Pallap Evoforce Dark Star Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Pallap Evoforce Dark Star heavier than the Bright Star?

Yes, and it uses a different core and face as well, not just extra weight in the same frame. Dark Star runs 360 to 365g with a tri-layer foam core; Bright Star runs 350 to 355g with a different two-layer core.

Is the Pallap Evoforce Dark Star head-heavy?

Tennis Warehouse Europe's own measurement (255 to 260mm) and a review both describe it as head-heavy. Our catalogue currently tags it as low balance, which we can't reconcile with those sources, so we've flagged the conflict rather than pick a side.

Is the Pallap Evoforce Dark Star good for intermediate players?

It is pitched at advanced players with a committed swing. The tri-layer core with a rigid centre gives little help on a soft or mistimed shot, so an intermediate player will likely find more consistency with the lighter Evoforce Bright Star or a round racket.

How heavy is the Pallap Evoforce Dark Star?

Most sources agree on 360 to 365g. One 2026 retail listing gives a wider range up to 375g, which we've noted rather than ignored.

What core and face does the Pallap Evoforce Dark Star use?

A Carbon Pura 12K CX face over a 3VA tri-layer foam core (28/40/28), on a Dual Carbon frame Pallap reinforces with what it calls 3D Lightning.
