Vairo Everlast Speed Padel Racket

£50.25

The Vairo Everlast Speed padel racket is a diamond-shaped, high-balance racket with 6K carbon faces, built for advanced players who finish points at the net. Shops list it at 360 to 370 g with an EVA core, a medium-hard touch and a mixed carbon and fibreglass frame.

Our sources are retailer pages only, and the 2023 label comes from a listing title. We found no scored review, so read the figures below as the shops' own.

The sheet, as shops print it

iPon Tennis and Padel Point agree on almost everything. The shape is diamond, the balance is high, the weight is 360 to 370 g and the core is EVA, which Padel Point calls a high-quality foam with low flex. The faces are 6K carbon and the tubular frame is half carbon and half fibreglass. Both pages describe a medium-hard feel.

Vairo's name for the construction is the Reinforced Inmold system, said to reinforce the areas that take the most wear. It's a maker's claim and nobody we found has tested it. Surface texture, dimensions and season aren't printed on either page.

What a high-balance diamond asks of you

This part is inference from the specs, not a review. A diamond head with the weight pushed towards the top gives a high sweet spot and a lot of hitting power on smashes and bandejas, and it costs you forgiveness. Off-centre shots on defence feel harsh, and a lob from the back wall takes real effort.

A 6K face is the lowest carbon grade in the Vairo set we've looked at, so don't read it as a soft racket by default. The shops' medium-hard description is the better guide. If you're used to a rounder shape, expect a few sessions before the timing settles. Our diamond padel rackets page covers what that shape does in more depth.

Not for you if

You're an improver, you want a racket that forgives mishits, or you have a sore elbow. High balance and a medium-hard feel put more load through the arm, and the shops rate this for advanced attackers.

Table comparing the Vairo Everlast Speed with the Vairo Columns Ultra and Black Karbon Confort: diamond against hybrid shape, high against medium balance, 6K, 24K and 18K carbon faces

Who it suits

Advanced players who play the net, hit a flat smash and already know they like a heavy head. It belongs with the advanced padel rackets. If you want the full picture across brands, start from the main padel racket range. The two Vairo hybrids, the Columns Ultra and the Black Karbon Confort, are easier on the arm.

Setting it up

A diamond head spends more time near the glass, so a racket protector earns its keep. A second overgrip from padel grips lowers the balance a touch and cushions the handle. Add fresh padel balls, grippy padel shoes and a padel bag.

Vairo Everlast Speed Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Vairo Everlast Speed a diamond racket?

Yes. iPon Tennis and Padel Point both list a diamond shape with a high balance.

Is the Vairo Everlast Speed good for beginners?

No. Shops rate it for advanced players who attack, and a high-balance diamond is hard to control without good technique.

What is the Reinforced Inmold system on the Vairo Everlast Speed?

Vairo describes it as reinforcement in the areas that wear most. We found no independent test of how it behaves.

How does the Vairo Everlast Speed differ from the Columns Ultra?

The Everlast Speed is a high-balance diamond with 6K faces. The Columns Ultra is a medium-balance hybrid with 24K faces, with the same listed weight.

Does the Vairo Everlast Speed need a protector?

It is a good idea. A diamond head meets the glass and fence often, and the frame is half fibreglass, which chips on knocks.
