Wilson Pro Padel Overgrip, 3 Pack

£6.30

The Wilson Pro padel overgrip is a thin, lightly tacky wrap that goes over your racket's factory grip, and this pack has three of them. It suits players with light to moderate sweat who like to feel the handle's bevels through the tape.

The figures below come from the tennis Pro Overgrip's spec sheet, because that is the one with published numbers: 0.60 mm thick, 78.7 cm long and about 4.9 g. Padel listings sometimes describe the padel pack as high-tack with moisture-wicking material, which are marketing claims, so we flag what we could and could not confirm.

How thick the Wilson Pro overgrip is

The tennis review we found puts the Wilson Pro Overgrip at 0.60 mm, and retailer snippets give 0.6 mm and 0.55 mm for the felt surface. That is the same as HEAD's Padel Pro and Babolat's Pro Tour 2.0, thicker than Bullpadel's comfort grip and Babolat's VS Original, and thinner than adidas, whose padel overgrip is listed at 0.75 mm.

We found no independent thickness for the padel-branded pack, so treat 0.60 mm as the figure to expect, not a guarantee. Thin overgrips keep the handle's shape and feel crisp; if you want a bigger, softer handle, Babolat's Comfort overgrip is another route.

Bar chart of listed overgrip thickness: adidas 0.75 mm, Wilson Pro, HEAD Padel Pro and Babolat Pro Tour 2.0 at 0.60 mm, Babolat My Overgrip 0.55 mm, Bullpadel comfort 0.50 mm, Babolat VS Original 0.43 mm

Wilson Pro is mid-range, thinner than adidas. Wilson figure is the tennis Pro Overgrip spec; other figures from retailer listings.

Tack, sweat and how long it lasts

The review calls the Pro lightly tacky, between dry and sticky, and good for light to moderate sweat, especially early in a session. The tack fades before the tape wears out, and the reviewer suggests replacing it after roughly two to three hours of play, depending on how much your hands sweat.

That is the honest catch. If you sweat heavily, play in the heat or hate re-wrapping, the same reviewer points towards Tourna Grip or Wilson's AbsorbX overgrip instead. Wilson's Profile padel overgrip is another option in the same brand.

Fitting it and choosing a pack size

The tape is stretchy with an adhesive starting strip. Start at the butt cap, overlap each turn by 2 to 3 mm, and do not pull the finishing tape too tight. The grip is tapered, so right-handers face the taper up and left-handers face it down. A padel handle is shorter than a tennis one, so you will have tape left over.

The three-pack suits most players. If you change grips often, our 12 pack gives you a season's supply, while the single overgrip is the one to try first. More choices are on our padel grips page.

Wilson Pro Padel Overgrip, 3 Pack: questions people ask

Is the Wilson Pro padel overgrip the same as the tennis Wilson Pro Overgrip?

They share the Pro name and the published specs come from the tennis version. Padel listings describe the padel pack as high-tack with moisture-wicking material, which is a marketing claim.

How often should I change a Wilson Pro overgrip?

A tennis review suggests about every two to three hours of play, because the tack fades before the tape wears out.

Is the Wilson Pro overgrip good for sweaty hands?

It handles light to moderate sweat. For heavy sweating the same review suggests Tourna Grip or the Wilson AbsorbX.

How thick is the Wilson Pro overgrip?

Sources give about 0.60 mm, with 0.55 mm on one listing, so it is a thin overgrip.

Which way do I wrap a Wilson Pro overgrip?

The tape is tapered, so right-handers wrap with the taper up and left-handers with it down, overlapping each turn by 2 to 3 mm.
