The top of the RX range

Y1 words its cores as a pair: soft 10-13 AirSpring and firm 13-15 PrecisionTech. The RX22P sits at the firm end with PrecisionTech EVA, under a 22K carbon face with Texture Control and 3D Control surfaces. The frame is full carbon, a double tube for torsional stiffness, with OptiFlow holes and a perforated VibraControl grip.

The numbers are the point of difference: 360 to 380 g, 370 g nominal, head heavy, with a tighter sweet spot than other RX models. That's a racket for players who hit cleanly and want a stiff, direct feel.

Card comparing the Y1 RX22P, the flagship with a firm 13 to 15 core and a 22K carbon face, with the other RX rackets such as the RX12 and the softer RX1

RX22P or the cheaper RX rackets?

The softer end of the family is the RX1, a fibreglass teardrop for beginners. The RX12 shares the firm 13-15 core with a 12K face, and the RX18 sits above it. If you'd rather have a pink one at the soft end, there's the RXLTD.

Not for you if

You want a forgiving racket or you're still working on timing. A firm core and a tighter sweet spot reward clean contact and punish the rest.

Protecting and pairing it

Fit a racket protector, keep a fresh overgrip from the padel grip range on the handle, play with a lively tube from the padel balls range and wear padel shoes made for sand-filled turf. See the full padel racket range, and the guide to choosing a padel racket explains shapes.
