4ON Total Grip Paste 50ml

£17.70

This 4ON total grip paste 50ml is a rub-in barrier for the hand, built to repel water and moisture rather than just adding friction once a hand is already wet. 4ON positions it to reduce sweat and improve grip in one step, applied straight to the fingertips and palm.

It's the third product in 4ON's Total line, alongside a spray and an antiperspirant, and the format is the real difference: this one is worked into the skin rather than sprayed on.

  • No sticky or greasy residue
  • Effect within seconds

A barrier, not just friction

Where 4ON's TotalGrip spray adds friction to a hand or handle that's already getting damp, this paste is pitched differently: a barrier rubbed into the skin that repels water and moisture before they build up, with the anti-slip effect kicking in within seconds of application and no sticky or greasy residue left behind.

No brand lists the ingredients that do this, so we can't say more than the mechanism it's sold on: a dry layer between hand and grip rather than a sticky coating. One customer review we found claims the paste lasts longer than the spray; that's one person's experience, not a confirmed comparison, so we're not repeating it as a selling point.

Diagram showing how to apply 4ON Total Grip paste to the fingertips and palm, and how it compares to the TotalGrip spray and TotalDry antiperspirant

How to use it

Put a small amount on your fingertips and rub it gently onto your palm, covering the areas that make contact with the grip. There's no wait time quoted beyond the few seconds it takes to work in, unlike the spray formats which ask for a longer absorption window. Reapply if your grip starts slipping again during a long session.

Who it suits, and the two other formats

Players who want a product worked into the skin rather than sprayed on, perhaps because a paste travels better in a kit bag or because the rub-in application feels more deliberate than a quick spray. 4ON's own TotalGrip spray does a similar anti-slip job in aerosol form, applied to the hand or the handle itself, and the brand's TotalDry spray is a genuinely different product, an antiperspirant that reduces sweat rather than adding grip over it. If your grip itself has worn out rather than your hand getting slippery, a 4ON SwiftGrip base-and-overgrip pack or a fresh overgrip from our padel grips page solves that instead, and the full padel accessories range covers everything else small enough to fit in a kit bag. Our guide to choosing a padel racket covers the rest of the kit if that side still needs sorting.

Not for you if

You'd rather not rub anything into your hands before a match. The TotalGrip spray does a similar job faster and with less contact.

4ON Total Grip Paste 50ml: questions people ask

Is 4ON Total Grip paste the same as the TotalGrip spray?

No. Same brand, same anti-slip idea, different format: the spray is an aerosol applied broadly, the paste is rubbed into the fingertips and palm as a barrier.

Does 4ON Total Grip paste work faster than the spray?

4ON says the effect kicks in within seconds either way. One customer review claims the paste lasts longer, but that's one person's opinion, not a confirmed comparison.

How do I apply 4ON Total Grip paste?

A small amount on your fingertips, rubbed gently onto the palm, covering the areas that touch the grip.

What's the difference between 4ON Total Grip paste and TotalDry?

They solve related but different problems. TotalDry is an antiperspirant that reduces hand sweat. The paste is an anti-slip barrier that works whether or not your hand is sweating.

Does 4ON Total Grip paste leave a sticky residue?

No, that's part of the brand's own positioning: a dry barrier rather than a sticky coating.
