Reading the name
Black is the colourway, Syntec Uptake is the grip and X1 is the pack, one grip. The other part of the story is what it is not: an overgrip. A base grip is the foundation layer on the bare handle, and the thin wraps you change weekly, such as the My Overgrip, go on top.

Why black
Black hides dirt and handle wear, and under an overgrip it makes no difference to feel. If you prefer the thinner Syntec Pro or the slim Team, the choice is thickness, not colour. The padel grips page explains the layers.
Who should skip it
Anyone who thinks the listing is an overgrip, since the wrap you change often is a different product. A plush handle needs the Evo, and the padel accessories range has other small kit.
