The thickest Babolat base grip
At 2.6 mm the Xcel Gel is 0.5 mm thicker than the Syntec Evo and more than 1 mm thicker than the Syntec Team or the leather grip. That is a good thing if your handle is too small and a bad one if it is already large. A reviewer on a retailer page warned that it is a little thicker than some others and may not suit an already oversized handle.
The gel layer is there for comfort, and the 4 out of 5 absorption rating suggests it copes with sweat better than the thin Syntec grips.
