Black Crown Vibranium Protector for Padel

£3.50

The Black Crown Vibranium protector is a stretchy, self-adhesive strip that sticks to the head of a padel racket and takes the scrapes from glass, fences and the floor. It suits anyone who wants a quick, shaped guard for one racket without cutting tape off a roll.

Retailers sell it in black and in transparent, and a couple call it protection tape. Our listing does not say which colour you get, so check before ordering, and note that thickness and material are not published.

What the Vibranium protector is

It is a frame guard, not a full wrap: a strip along the top of the head, where the racket meets the glass most. A Spanish retailer says it adapts to the frame thanks to its elasticity and adhesive, and another says it avoids friction and bumps. That is about the extent of what anyone publishes.

The name causes small confusion. Most pages say protector, while two call it protection tape. They mean the same strip. Where you see a roll of tape in a club shop, that is a different product, like the Black Crown protection tape roll.

Vibranium, Ure or plain black?

If you want to keep the paint visible, pick a clear one. The Vibranium comes clear, as does the Ure transparent protector, which has a rounded edge. If you do not mind black, the plain Black Crown frame protector does the same job, and black hides scuffs better than clear.

Pick by look and by the edge you like, since no listing separates them on thickness or material. Our listing does not state the colour, so confirm it.

What is not published

Thickness, material and length are not on any listing we found. The weight appears as 0.04 kg on two pages, which looks like a unit slip for a strip that light, so we do not use it. One retailer describes a high-tack adhesive, but that sits under general frame-protector copy, so we do not attribute it to the Vibranium.

Expect to replace a protector now and then: it takes the knocks so the frame does not. Black Crown gives no life figure.

Who should skip it

Players who want a full-frame wrap or a stated thickness (the Drop Shot High Resistance protector is white and also lists none). Pair it with a new overgrip from the padel grips range, browse the rest of the racket protector options, and see the padel racket range for what you are protecting.

Not for you if

You need a published thickness, a full-frame wrap or a protector that hides scuffs. A clear strip shows what it collects, and our listing does not state the colour.

Black Crown Vibranium Protector for Padel: questions people ask

Is the Black Crown Vibranium a protector or protection tape?

The same strip goes by both names. Most retailers say protector, and two say protection tape. It is not the 50 m roll.

What colour is the Black Crown Vibranium protector?

Black Crown sells it in black and transparent. Our listing does not state which, so check before you order.

What is the difference between the Vibranium and the Ure protector?

The Vibranium is described as stretchy, and the Ure as round-edged. Both come in transparent, and neither lists a thickness.

Does the Vibranium protector stretch to fit?

A Spanish retailer says it adapts to the frame thanks to its elasticity and adhesive. That is a single source.

How often should I replace a racket protector?

When it is scuffed through or lifting. No maker gives a life figure for this one, and heavy glass contact wears it faster.
