Black Crown Ure Transparent Protector for Padel

£4.15

The Black Crown Ure transparent protector is a clear, pre-shaped strip that sticks to the head of a padel racket to guard the frame against bumps and drops. It is for players who like their racket's paint job and would rather see it than cover it in black.

Retailers describe it as see-through, with a rounded edge, and it comes from Black Crown's Ure range. Nobody publishes a thickness, a material or a length, so we do not state any.

Why choose the clear Ure

A black protector hides itself but also hides what is under it. The clear Ure lets the racket's graphics show along the top of the head, which matters if you chose the racket partly for how it looks. It costs you nothing in coverage, since it sits where the frame hits the glass and the floor.

Black Crown sells the Ure in black, black and red, and transparent. The Vibranium protector also comes clear, and the plain black frame protector is the simple option. The grid shows where each sits.

Grid of Black Crown protector ranges by colour: plain frame protector in black, Vibranium in black and transparent, Ure in black, black and red and transparent, Adamantium in black

What is known about it, and what is not

The listings agree on the look and the purpose: transparent, rounded edge, a guard against knocks. They say nothing about thickness, material or length, and clear protectors do wear and scuff, so expect to replace one every so often. We do not claim a life figure, because Black Crown does not publish one.

For a frame protector, thin and clean is usually better than thick, because a bulky strip can alter the feel of the head. We cannot tell you which this is, so check the listing before you commit.

Who should skip it

Players who want a full-frame wrap, since a protector covers the head only. Anyone who wants a stated thickness should look elsewhere or ask us first. A plain black strip is less fussy if you do not care how the frame looks.

A clear rival from another brand is the Shockout transparent guard. Add a cushioned overgrip from our padel grips range, read our racket protector page (a plain white strip is the Drop Shot High Resistance) for the full set of options, and see the padel racket range for what you are protecting. A padel bag with a thermal pocket keeps the frame safe between games.

Not for you if

You need a published thickness, a full-frame wrap or a protector that hides scuffs. A clear strip shows every mark it picks up.

Black Crown Ure Transparent Protector for Padel: questions people ask

Is the Black Crown Ure protector transparent or black?

This listing is the transparent one. Black Crown also sells the Ure in black and in black and red.

What is the difference between the Ure and the Vibranium protector?

Retailers describe the Ure with a rounded edge and the Vibranium as elastic. Both come in transparent, and the Vibranium also in black.

Will a clear protector hide my racket design?

No. It is see-through, so the graphics along the top of the head stay visible. It will show scuffs more than a black one does.

How thick is the Black Crown Ure transparent protector?

No retailer publishes a thickness for it.

How do I fit the Black Crown Ure protector?

Clean and dry the top of the frame, peel the backing and press the strip along the head. Retailers publish no step-by-step, so follow the pack if it has one.
