The headline is the sole. HEAD worked with Mondo, which makes artificial turf for padel courts, on a pattern and rubber compound for sand-dressed grass, with perforations through the outsole and midsole to let heat out. It's a padel-only sole, so it's not the shoe for hard-court tennis or the gym.

Above it, the upper is a lighter dual mesh over a new knitted sock construction, and a lock-down strap runs across the laces to stop your heel lifting when you stop dead. HEAD kept what worked on the first Motion Pro: DynaFoam, a midsole of small air cells that's light and springy, a TPU shank under the arch and Lateral Control+ with a reinforced upper round the sides.

HEAD doesn't publish a width for the 1.5. The first Motion Pro women's fitted true to size with a medium width and arch on Tennis Warehouse's chart, and the knitted sock on the 1.5 hugs the foot a little more than that shoe's elastic collar. Measure your foot in centimetres, heel to longest toe, and match it to HEAD's women's chart: UK 4.5 is 23.5 cm on HEAD's own sizing. Our listing carries UK 6 to 9.

At about 335 g for a US 8.5, going by Merchant of Tennis's 11.8 oz, the 1.5 is a mid-weight stability shoe. The ASICS Game FF women's is far lighter at 261 g but narrower and less supportive. The Bullpadel Elite 26V is firmer and similar in weight. If you'd rather a dial than laces, the Motion Pro 1.5 BOA uses the same midsole and is sold as unisex. Wear them only on court: walking to the club on pavement wears the padel pattern flat. Knock the sand out after each session, let them dry at room temperature rather than on a radiator, and pull the insole out to air.
