HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA Padel Shoes

6 · £120

The HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA padel shoes are HEAD's 2026 padel shoe with a BOA dial in place of laces: DynaFoam cushioning, a TPU midfoot shank, a padel-specific outsole and a closure you can tighten or loosen with a turn, for club and competitive players who want a locked-in fit without retying.

Underneath, it's the same shoe as the laced Motion Pro 1.5. The question is whether you like laces.

Why a dial instead of laces

Laces loosen. You tie them before the first game, and by the third set one shoe feels slack on the outside of the foot just when you're pushing off to the side. A BOA system replaces the laces with thin cables run through guides and tightened by a dial, so you can add a click of tension between points and release it at the end with one movement. HEAD uses BOA's Dual Li2 fit system here, which it describes as a micro-adjustable fit.

The rest of the shoe is HEAD's 1.5 build. A dual mesh upper with a new sock construction, a reinforced upper for support, DynaFoam in the midsole, a TPU shank under the arch and HEAD's Lateral Control+ for the sideways work padel is made of. The outsole uses a padel-specific pattern and rubber compound, perforated to let air through.

Motion Pro 1.5 BOA or the laced 1.5?

If you've never had a problem with laces, the laced Motion Pro 1.5 gives you the same midsole, stability and upper. If you're always retying, or you have one foot that never feels quite as snug as the other, the dial is worth it. HEAD also made a BOA version of the original Motion Pro, which we list as the Motion Pro BOA, and the older laced Motion Pro 2024 is still available.

Sizing and fit

Our listing runs UK 6 to 12 in half sizes; Tennis Warehouse Europe lists HEAD's range as UK 7 to 11.5 and describes the shoe as unisex. On Tennis Warehouse Europe's charts a 28 cm foot is a UK 9 in HEAD, the same as ASICS, and the padel shoes page has a brand-by-brand sizing table. Fit them late in the day, in the socks you play in, and tighten the dial with your foot flat on the floor before you lunge sideways to test.

One practical point: if a BOA cable ever frays, it can be replaced, but it's a different job from swapping a lace, so keep the shoes away from sharp edges on the way to the court.

Not for you if

You prefer the feel of laces, you want the lightest possible shoe, or you play mostly on clay or hard courts rather than artificial grass. The laced 1.5 or a clay-sole shoe will suit you better.

With the shoes

Good shoes and a forgiving racket make the biggest difference in your first seasons. HEAD's Vibe 2025 is an easy teardrop, and the best padel racket for beginners page has more. For balls, the Head Pro S+ tube suits cold courts, and padel balls has the rest. Grips are on padel grips and bags on padel bags, and every men's padel shoe we sell is on men's padel shoes. For a clay-sole BOA alternative, see the Head Endure Pro BOA Clay

HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA Padel Shoes: questions people ask

Is the HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA the same as the Motion Pro BOA?

No. The Motion Pro BOA is the original Motion Pro with a dial. The Motion Pro 1.5 BOA is the 2026 version, with HEAD's updated sock construction and upper.

Are the HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA shoes good for club players?

Yes. They suit club and competitive players who move a lot and want a fit that stays put. The dial lets you adjust between games without retying.

HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA or laced Motion Pro 1.5: which should I buy?

They share the DynaFoam midsole, TPU shank and upper. Choose the BOA if laces keep loosening or you want quick micro-adjustments; choose the laced version if you prefer laces or a lower price.

Can the BOA cable on padel shoes be replaced if it breaks?

BOA systems are designed to be repairable, but it is a different job from changing a lace. Keep the dial and cables away from sharp edges and contact us if anything fails in use.

What sizes do the HEAD Motion Pro 1.5 BOA come in?

Our listing runs UK 6 to 12 in half sizes. If you are between sizes, measure your foot in centimetres and check the brand table on our padel shoes page.
