HEAD Motion Pro Padel Shoes, Men's 2024

The Motion Pro was HEAD's first shoe engineered specifically for padel, with an outsole pattern and rubber compound HEAD developed for padel courts and called Motion Tread. HEAD's promise for it is traction and durability on sand-filled turf, which is what a padel sole has to balance.

Above the sole, HEAD fits its DynaFoam midsole, a light foam with small air cells, a TPU shank under the midfoot to resist twisting, and what it calls Lateral Control+ along with a reinforced upper for side-to-side support. The upper is breathable mesh built around a fully integrated elastic sock, so it wraps the foot rather than relying on a separate tongue.

The Motion Pro 1.5 replaced it for 2026. It keeps the DynaFoam, the TPU shank and Lateral Control+, and changes two things: an outsole HEAD developed with Mondo, the court-surface maker, and a new upper with dual mesh, a knit sock and a lock-down strap. If you want the newest sole and the strap, buy the 1.5. If the original fits you, it remains a well-built shoe, and the parts that do the supporting haven't changed.

HEAD also makes both generations with a BOA dial instead of laces; we list the original as the Motion Pro BOA and the newer one as the Motion Pro 1.5 BOA.

Tennis Warehouse Europe lists the Motion Pro as true to size with a medium width and a medium arch, which is about as middle-of-the-road as a padel shoe gets. On HEAD's men's chart a 29 cm foot is a UK 10 and EU 44.5. Measure your foot from heel to longest toe and buy by centimetres.

Players with narrow feet may find the medium last roomy; the ASICS Game FF Padel is a narrow alternative. Beginners playing once a fortnight don't need this much shoe, and the ASICS Gel-Dedicate 9 Padel or HEAD's Motion Team 1.5 will do the job. Knock the sand out after every session, loosen the laces fully before you pull them off so the sock collar keeps its shape, and let them dry at room temperature. Keep them for the court; pavements wear a padel outsole faster than any number of matches. A Karakal Performance Insole adds cushioning under the heel if you want it.
