HEAD Motion Pro BOA Mens Padel Shoes

3.5 · £120

The HEAD Motion Pro BOA mens padel shoes are the original Motion Pro with HEAD's Dual BOA Fit system in place of laces, so you tighten it with a turn of the dial. Underneath it's the same stability shoe, with a DynaFoam midsole, a TPU midfoot shank and a padel-specific outsole, for players who want a locked-in fit they can adjust between points. Ours is the black and white version.

HEAD sells it as unisex, true to size with a medium width. The newer 1.5 BOA updated the upper; this one keeps the integrated elastic sock that made the first Motion Pro comfortable from the first wear.

Why a dial on a padel shoe

Padel is all short, sharp changes of direction, and laces work loose over an hour of it. A BOA dial pulls a thin cable evenly through the upper, so the tension stays where you set it and you can add a click or two between games without sitting down. HEAD calls its version micro-adjustable, which is fair: each click is a small change, not a lurch.

The cost is weight. Tennis Warehouse Europe weighs the BOA version at 398 g for a US 10.5, against 378 g for the laced Motion Pro in the same size. Twenty grams a shoe is the difference you're paying for, and most players won't feel it after the first set.

The shoe under the dial

Everything below the closure is the Motion Pro that HEAD built its padel shoes on. DynaFoam is a midsole of small air cells, light and responsive. A TPU shank stops the shoe twisting under the arch, and Lateral Control+ with a reinforced upper holds the foot over the sole on a wide lunge. The outsole pattern and rubber are made for sand-dressed turf, with perforations to let heat out, and the mesh upper wraps into an integrated elastic sock.

Tennis Warehouse Europe rates the fit true to size with a medium width and a medium arch, and lists no break-in. Our listing runs from UK 3.5 to 12.5, the unisex range, so women can use it too: go by foot length in centimetres on HEAD's chart rather than your usual shoe size.

Motion Pro BOA, the 1.5 BOA, or laces?

For 2026 HEAD moved to the newer Motion Pro 1.5 BOA, with BOA's Dual Li2 system and a knitted sock upper over the same DynaFoam and shank. If you liked the first Motion Pro's elastic sock, this version is the safer bet. If you're happy with laces, the laced Motion Pro 1.5 does the same job without a dial. And if HEAD's medium last pinches, ASICS's Gel-Resolution X is the stability alternative from another brand. Every pair is on padel shoes, with the men's range on men's padel shoes.

Not for you if

You want the lightest shoe you can find, you have wide feet, or you play hard-court tennis in the same pair. A laced or lighter shoe, or a multi-court model, will suit you better.

Looking after a BOA shoe

Release the dial fully before you pull the shoe off, rather than levering the heel with the other foot, so the cable isn't dragged at an angle. Knock the sand out of the tread after each session and dry the shoes away from radiators. Keep them for the court only. If your arches tire in long sessions, a Karakal insole adds cushioning without changing the fit much. And if you're new to the game and shopping for a racket to go with them, the best padel racket for beginners list is the place to start. A clay-court tennis shoe with the same dial idea is the Endure Pro BOA Clay

HEAD Motion Pro BOA Mens Padel Shoes: questions people ask

Is the HEAD Motion Pro BOA the same shoe as the laced Motion Pro?

Underneath, yes: the same DynaFoam midsole, TPU shank, Lateral Control+ and padel outsole. The BOA version swaps laces for a Dual BOA dial and weighs 20 g more at US 10.5.

Is the HEAD Motion Pro BOA a men's or a unisex shoe?

HEAD and Tennis Warehouse Europe list it as unisex. We list it under men's, but the UK 3.5 to 12.5 range covers most women's sizes too.

HEAD Motion Pro BOA or Motion Pro 1.5 BOA: which should I buy?

The 1.5 BOA has BOA's Dual Li2 system and a knitted sock upper. The original keeps the integrated elastic sock. If the first Motion Pro fitted you well, the original is the safer choice.

How do I clean HEAD Motion Pro BOA shoes?

Release the dial, knock the sand out of the sole, wipe the upper with a damp cloth and let them dry at room temperature. Do not put them in the washing machine.

How heavy is the HEAD Motion Pro BOA?

Tennis Warehouse Europe weighs it at 398 g for one shoe at US 10.5, 20 g more than the laced Motion Pro.
