Head Padel Pro S+ Balls, 3-Ball Tube

£5.12

The Head Padel Pro S is now sold as the Pro S+: Head's firmer, higher-bouncing tournament ball, and the one Head's own guidance points UK players towards for cold, damp courts. This listing is a single sealed tube of three.

Head describes it as offering greater firmness and a higher bounce for a faster style of play. On a November evening outdoors, that is exactly what you want from a ball.

Head Padel Pro S or Pro S+?

Head created the original Padel Pro S for the World Padel Tour, as a faster option for players who wanted more speed, and the Padel Pro and Pro S were the tour balls until the tour ended in 2023. In 2024 Head replaced them with the Pro+ and the Pro S+, with a new core built to hold its pressure for longer and a felt developed only for padel. If you search for 'Head Padel Pro S', the Pro S+ is the ball you'll find on the shelves now.

The other half of the pair is the Head Pro+, which Head describes as the thinner-walled control ball. Same price band, different job.

When the Pro S+ is the right ball

Cold air and damp courts slow a padel ball down, and UK courts are at sea level and cool for most of the year. Brand guidance for those conditions points at the firmer, livelier versions, which in Head's range means the Pro S+. Head's own copy says the ball is easier to smash out of the court, which tells you how lively it is meant to be.

In summer, or on fast indoor courts, the ball can feel quick. That is when control players reach for the Pro+ instead, and it's why many keen players keep a tube of each.

One tube, a bipack or a dozen?

A fresh tube per match is normal for competitive players; social groups stretch one over two or three sessions. If you play weekly, the Pro S+ bipack or the Pro S+ dozen saves reordering, and sealed tubes keep until you open them. Once a tube is open, a ball pressuriser such as the Head X4 pump slows the drop-off between sessions.

When to choose a different ball

If you mostly play indoors on a fast court and value placement over pace, the Pro S+ may feel too lively; the Pro+ is the better fit. Beginners who want slower rallies will also find the Head One easier. For a cheap lively can on a slow court, the adidas-branded Pro Bounce can is sold for the same job, though with far less published detail.

Not for you if

You want the slowest, most controllable ball for learning, or a low-compression ball for children. The Pro S+ is a full-pressure tournament ball built for pace.

Rackets that suit a lively ball

A firm ball suits attackers: the Head Speed Pro and the Coello Motion both get the most from its bounce. Every ball we stock is on the padel balls page, the full padel racket range is there for the rest, a tube fits the side pocket of most bags on the padel bag page, and our guide to choosing a padel racket explains which racket suits a fast ball.

Head Padel Pro S+ Balls, 3-Ball Tube: questions people ask

Is the Head Pro S+ the same as the Head Padel Pro S?

The Pro S+ is the 2024 replacement for the Padel Pro S, which Head made for the World Padel Tour. It has a new core designed to keep pressure longer and a padel-specific felt, so it is the current version of that ball rather than the same ball.

What is the difference between Head Pro S+ and Pro+?

Head describes the Pro S+ as firmer with a higher bounce for faster play, and the Pro+ as the thinner-walled control ball. For cold or damp UK courts, the Pro S+; for indoor or warm summer play, the Pro+.

Are Head Pro S+ balls good for UK courts?

Yes, especially outdoors in autumn and winter. Brand guidance for cold, low-altitude courts points at the firmer, livelier versions, which in Head's range is the Pro S+.

How long does a tube of Head Pro S+ last?

Head publishes no figure. Competitive players open a fresh tube each match; social players get two or three sessions. If a ball dropped from hip height no longer bounces to about knee height, move that tube to practice.

How many balls are in a Head Pro S+ tube?

Three, in a sealed pressurised tube. We also list a bipack and a dozen of the same ball.
