Head Padel Pro Balls: Pro+ Dozen

£16.80

Head Padel Pro balls are now sold as the Head Padel Pro+: the 2024 successor to the ball the World Padel Tour used for eleven seasons, and the control half of Head's current tournament pair. This listing is a dozen, four sealed cans of three.

Head describes the Pro+ as the easier ball to control, thanks to a thinner wall. Its partner, the Pro S+, is firmer and bounces higher. Which one you want depends more on your courts than on your level.

Head Padel Pro or Pro+? The same family, a new ball

Head was the World Padel Tour's ball supplier from 2013 until the tour ended in 2023, and its Padel Pro and Padel Pro S were the balls in play. In 2024 Head replaced both with a new pair, the Pro+ and the Pro S+. Plenty of players still search for the old names, which is why you may have landed here looking for 'Head Padel Pro balls'. The Pro+ is the current version of that ball.

The tour landscape moved on too. Wilson has supplied the Premier Padel tour ball since 2024 (see the Wilson Premier ball), with some events going to Head; Head supplied the Pro+ and Pro S+ as the match balls at the Gijón Premier Padel P2 in March 2026.

Head Pro+ vs Pro S+: which ball for your courts?

Head's own description is the clearest guide. The Pro+ has a thinner wall that makes it easier to control and appeals to players who want precision; the Pro S+ is firmer with a higher bounce for a faster style of play. Both get a core designed to hold pressure for longer and a felt developed only for padel.

Then think about where you play. British courts are at sea level, cool for most of the year and often damp, and in those conditions a ball slows down. That is why the brand guidance for cold, low-altitude courts points at the speed versions, the Pro S+ tube in Head's case. The Pro+ comes into its own on fast indoor courts and on warm summer evenings outdoors, when a livelier ball can fly.

So, honestly: for a UK winter league, buy the S+. For indoor play or the summer, or if you simply prefer a softer, more placeable ball, the Pro+ is the one.

A tube, a dozen or a case?

Padel balls in the UK come pressurised in sealed cans of three, and a fresh can per match is normal for competitive players. Social players stretch a can over two or three sessions. A dozen is the sensible middle: four cans, enough for a month of weekly doubles if you open a new can each time, or a single weekend of serious practice.

If you play less often, the single Pro+ tube avoids sitting on stock. Clubs and coaches buying in bulk are better off with a case, such as the Pro+ case of 24 cans, and Head's Padel Team box of 24 tubes is the coaching option. Sealed cans keep until opened, so a dozen doesn't go off in the cupboard.

How long do Head Pro+ balls last?

No ball brand publishes a life in hours or matches, Head included; the claim is only that the new core holds pressure for longer. The practical answer is a drop test. Hold a ball at hip height and let it fall onto a hard floor. If it no longer bounces back to about knee height, the can has had its day for match play and can move to the practice bag.

For reference, the FIP's rules set the bounce of a new ball at 135 to 145 cm when dropped from 2.54 m, and internal pressure at roughly 10.1 to 11.5 psi. A ball pressuriser such as the Head X4 pump keeps opened balls above atmospheric pressure between sessions, which slows the drop off; our padel ball pressuriser page explains what they can and can't do.

When the Pro+ is the wrong ball

If most of your padel happens outdoors between October and April, the Pro+ is likely to feel slow and heavy by the third game. Pick the Pro S+ instead. And if you just want something to rally with, Head's cheaper Padel One is the better value; see the Head One tube.

Not for you if

You want the most pace and bounce from a tube on a cold British evening, or you are buying balls for a junior who needs a slower, low-compression ball. The Pro+ is a full-pressure tournament ball built for control.

Rackets and kit that suit a control ball

A control ball pairs naturally with a control racket. The round Head Gravity Pro is Head's advanced control frame, the Radical Motion is the quicker teardrop control option, and the Head Vibe is the softer, cheaper way in. Attacking players who still like a precise ball often use it with a diamond such as the Coello Motion.

Every ball we stock is on the padel balls page, along with an explainer on pressure and felt. A ball tube fits in the side pocket of most bags on the padel bag page. And for everything from rackets to grips, the padel racket range and the padel accessories page are the places to start. New to the game? Our guide on how to choose a padel racket covers the rest.

Head Padel Pro Balls: Pro+ Dozen: questions people ask

Are Head Pro+ balls the same as Head Padel Pro balls?

The Pro+ is the 2024 replacement for the Head Padel Pro, the ball used on the World Padel Tour until 2023. It has a new core and a padel-specific felt, so it is the current version rather than the same ball. Old Padel Pro stock still turns up online.

Which is better for UK courts, Head Pro+ or Pro S+?

For cold or damp outdoor courts, the Pro S+: it is firmer and bounces higher, which keeps pace up when conditions slow the ball. The Pro+ suits indoor courts, warm summer play and players who value control.

What is the difference between Head Pro+ and Head One balls?

The Pro+ is Head's full tournament ball with a thinner wall for control. The Head One is its more affordable all-round ball for club and casual play. If you are not playing competitively, the One is usually the better value.

How long do Head Pro+ padel balls last?

Head publishes no figure. Competitive players usually open a fresh can each match; social players get two or three sessions. Drop a ball from hip height: if it no longer bounces to about knee height, use that can for practice and open a new one.

What pressure is a Head Pro+ padel ball?

Head doesn't publish a figure, but every padel ball must meet the FIP rules: about 10.1 to 11.5 psi internal pressure and a bounce of 135 to 145 cm from 2.54 m. Pressurised balls lose pressure once the can is opened.

How many balls are in the Head Pro+ dozen?

Twelve: four sealed cans of three. Unopened cans keep their pressure, so you can store the spares until you need them.
