Head Padel One Balls, 3 Ball Tube

£3.88

Head Padel One balls are HEAD's everyday club ball: a pressurised ball in a sealed tube of three, pitched by HEAD at improving players who want a fair balance of speed, control and durability rather than a tournament ball's pace.

That makes it the ball for the Tuesday-night four, the coaching session and the first few months of padel. It isn't trying to be the Pro S+, and for most social games it doesn't need to be.

What the Padel One is for

HEAD makes three balls in a pressurised tube, and the One sits underneath the other two. The Pro S+ is the firmer, higher-bouncing tournament ball, and the Pro+ is the thinner-walled control ball HEAD recommends for warmer courts. The One gives up a little of their liveliness in exchange for a gentler, more predictable bounce that suits rallies between players still learning the walls.

Retailers describe it as quick but not too quick, which is a fair summary. HEAD doesn't publish a core thickness or felt name for the One, so don't expect the spec sheet the Pro S+ comes with. What you get is a sealed, pressurised can, and the can and sleeve are designed to be recycled.

Padel One or a HEAD tournament ball?

For social padel the One is plenty. If you play competitive league matches, or you're on an outdoor court through a British winter, the Pro S+ is worth the extra: HEAD says it suits colder courts at sea level, which describes most of the UK from October to May. The control-focused Pro+ dozen makes more sense on fast indoor courts or in summer.

How long a tube stays lively

No ball maker publishes a life in hours or matches, HEAD included. The one figure in the market comes from Padel Nuestro's HEAD ball copy, which says HEAD balls hold up for about three games of frequent use and then play lower. Nothing specific to the One is published, so treat that as a rough guide for a social ball, not a promise.

The quick check is better than any number. Drop a ball from hip height before you start; if it no longer bounces back to knee height, open a new can. Keep tubes sealed until you need them, out of a hot car boot, and a HEAD X4 pressuriser will keep a half-used set going for longer between sessions.

When the One is the wrong ball

If your club or league names a match ball, use that one. And if you play hard, fast padel most nights, a tournament ball will hold its pace better through a long session than a club ball. The padel balls page compares HEAD with Bullpadel, Wilson and Dunlop, and padel ball pressurisers covers the tins that keep any ball lively for longer.

Not for you if

You play competitive matches on cold outdoor courts, you need the specific ball your league uses, or you want the most speed off the racket. The Pro S+ is the better HEAD ball for that.

Rackets that suit a club ball

A steady ball goes best with a forgiving racket. HEAD's Vibe and Evo Speed are the two teardrops most new players start with, and the Coello Vibe is the bigger-headed option. The best padel racket for beginners page has more, and every racket we sell is on padel rackets.

Head Padel One Balls, 3 Ball Tube: questions people ask

Is the Head Padel One the same ball as the Head Padel Pro?

No. The Padel Pro was HEAD's tournament ball until the Pro+ replaced it, just as the Pro S+ replaced the Pro S. The Padel One is a separate club ball, made for social play and improving players.

Are Head Padel One balls good for beginners?

Yes. HEAD aims them at improving players, and their steadier bounce makes rallies easier to keep going than with a firm tournament ball.

Head Padel One or Pro S+: which should I buy for the UK?

For social and indoor games the One is enough. For competitive matches or outdoor courts in the colder months, the Pro S+ is the better choice, since HEAD designs it for cold courts at sea level.

How many games do Head Padel One balls last?

HEAD does not publish a figure. Retail copy for HEAD balls suggests about three games of frequent use. Use the hip-to-knee drop test and open a new can when the bounce drops below knee height.

How many balls are in a tube of Head Padel One?

Three, in a sealed pressurised can. If you play every week, the dozen listing gives you four tubes, which is twelve balls.
