Head Coello Motion 2026 Padel Racket

£207.40

The Head Coello Motion is the lighter, quicker version of Arturo Coello's diamond: 360 g of carbon for strong intermediate and advanced players who attack from the net but don't want to haul a 370 g frame through a long match. The 2026 edition pairs a Carbon Hybrid HS face with Power Foam, a full carbon frame and a 268 mm balance.

Coello himself plays the heavier Coello Pro. The Motion is the one most club attackers should actually buy.

Head Coello Motion vs Coello Pro: what 10 grams buys you

The two share a face, a core, a frame and a shape. What separates them is mass and where it sits: the Coello Pro is 370 g with its balance at 272 mm, the Motion 360 g at 268 mm. Head describes the Motion as the more manoeuvrable, more accessible version of the Pro, and on paper that is exactly what four millimetres and ten grams should give you.

In practice the gap shows up at the net. A lighter, slightly lower-balanced diamond gets back into position faster after a smash, which matters when the reply comes straight at your chest. The cost is a little less weight driving the ball on the overhead, though Padelful still scores the Motion's power at 8.8. If you are strong, tall and finish most points yourself, the Pro. If you also have to defend, the Motion.

Head Coello Motion review: how it plays

Firm is the first impression. Padelful files the feel as medium-hard and the face as carbon over a 100% carbon frame, so contact is crisp and direct rather than cushioned. That firmness is where the control comes from: Padelful scores control at 9.6, its best number for this racket, and the ball goes where the face points.

Spin is the other strength. Head's Extreme Spin finish is a rough 3D decal over the hitting surface, and Tennis Warehouse rates the Motion's spin as above average, which pays off on slice bandejas and kick smashes. Auxetic 2.0 in the yoke and grip is Head's answer to the dead feel some carbon diamonds have; the brand claims it doubles the feedback you get at contact.

The catch is forgiveness. The sweet spot scores 8.0, respectable for a diamond but well short of a round or teardrop, and Padelful says plainly that the 2026 leaves less margin for error and punishes sloppy contact.

Coello Motion 2026 vs 2025: worth the upgrade?

Not if you already own the 2025. Padelful lists both at 360 g with Power Foam, a carbon face and a carbon frame, and the scores barely move: control 9.6 against 9.4, rebound 7.7 against 7.5, everything else identical. Head's 2026 sheet also lists its Soft Butt Cap + with an exchangeable wrist cord.

Buying fresh, the choice is more about feel. Padelful calls the Coello Motion 2025 the gentler option for sensitive arms and the 2026 the crisper finisher. A slightly softer racket at last season's price isn't a bad deal for many players.

Where the Motion sits in the Head Coello range

Head's Coello family runs from the Coello Vibe, a fibreglass teardrop for improvers, through the Coello Team, a fibreglass diamond at the same 360 g, to the Motion and the Pro. The Team is the obvious alternative if you want the shape without the stiff carbon feel. Outside the Coello line, the Extreme Motion is the other 360 g Head diamond, built on unidirectional carbon and played by Paula Josemaria, and the 350 g Extreme One 2025 is lighter still.

Is the Coello Motion right for you?

It is right if you play several times a week, you already hit a confident flat smash, and your problem is getting back into the point after it. It is wrong if you are still learning to volley, because a firm diamond magnifies mishits rather than hiding them. Our advanced padel rackets page explains the jump, and the intermediate padel rackets page covers the step before it.

Not for you if

You play once a week, you mostly defend from the back, or your forearm complains after a stiff racket. A medium-hard carbon diamond loads the arm more than a soft teardrop does. Start with a teardrop from the teardrop padel rackets range, or at least the softer 2025 Motion.

Setting up a Coello Motion

Protect the top of the frame first. Diamonds take most of their knocks on the glass at the widest point of the head, and a strip from the racket protector range costs a fraction of a repair. Then the handle: on a firm racket a slipping hand costs you the swing speed you paid for, so fit a fresh overgrip such as Head Prestige Pro; the padel grip page compares the types.

For balls, Head Pro S+ keeps the bag one brand and our padel balls guide explains how long a tube lasts. The matching Head Coello Tour padel bag carries rackets, shoes and kit; there's more on the padel bag page. And a diamond played well means hard lateral pushes, so pair it with a supportive shoe from the padel shoes range, such as ASICS's lighter Challenger 15 Padel.

Comparing diamonds more widely? The diamond padel rackets page lines up every one we stock, carbon padel rackets covers the face materials, and the full padel racket range covers the rest. Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains balance and weight from scratch.

Head Coello Motion 2026 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Head Coello Motion the racket Arturo Coello plays?

No. Coello plays the Coello Pro, the 370 g version. The Coello Motion is the lighter model in his signature line, 10 g lighter with its balance 4 mm lower, built for players who want the same feel with quicker handling.

What level is the Head Coello Motion for?

Strong intermediate to advanced players, as Head labels it. You should already hit a confident flat smash and volley cleanly. Players still building technique will get more from a teardrop or the fibreglass Coello Team.

Coello Motion or Extreme Motion: which should I buy?

Both are 360 g Head diamonds for attacking players. The Coello Motion uses Carbon Hybrid HS with Power Foam and a 268 mm balance; the Extreme Motion uses unidirectional carbon. Pick the Coello if you want its rough Extreme Spin face, the Extreme if you prefer that line's feel.

How do I look after a Head Coello Motion?

Tape the top of the frame against glass strikes, store it in a cover away from heat, and wipe the rough face after damp sessions so grit does not wear the texture smooth. The Soft Butt Cap + cord can be swapped if it frays.

How heavy is the Head Coello Motion 2026?

360 g on Head's sheet, with a 10 g tolerance either way. The balance is 268 mm from the butt, the profile 38 mm and the head about 475 cm².

Is the 2026 Coello Motion different from the 2025?

Barely. Padelful lists the same weight, core and carbon build, with control and rebound a fraction higher on the 2026. It calls the 2025 the gentler option for sensitive arms. The 2026 adds Head's Soft Butt Cap + with an exchangeable cord.
