Head Coello Team 2026 Padel Racket

£134.99

The Head Coello Team 2026 is the fibreglass member of Arturo Coello's signature range: a 360 g diamond with a carbon frame and red Power Foam, built for intermediate players who want to attack from the net without the hard, jarring feel of a full carbon face.

It shares its weight and shape with the Coello Motion and sits 2 mm from it on balance. What you are really choosing between is the face, and that one layer changes how the racket feels more than anything else on the spec sheet.

The face is the whole story

Head builds the Team, the Coello Motion and the Coello Pro on the same idea: a carbon frame for a quick, stable response, Power Foam in the core for pop, and a diamond head that puts the sweet spot high for the smash. The Motion and the Pro cover that core in Carbon Hybrid HS, a weave of carbon and fibreglass. The Team uses fibreglass alone.

Fibreglass bends a little more as the ball lands, so it holds the ball for a fraction longer and sends less shock up your arm. You feel the ball more clearly on a soft volley and lose a little of the crack on a flat smash. One UK retailer's listing puts the trade simply: same weight, balance and profile as the Motion, much softer to hit. For a club player who mishits a few balls a game, that is usually the better side of the deal.

On court: where the Coello Team earns its keep

Most of its good work happens at the net. Padelful's tester found volleys and blocks stable, and power that comes without having to force the swing, which is what a 270 mm balance on a 360 g frame should give you: enough weight in the head to push a volley deep, not so much that a fast exchange catches you late. On overheads the diamond does what diamonds do. A bandeja sits up nicely, and a smash from a good position goes through the court.

The softer face costs you two things. Spin is only moderate, so the hook on a vibora is milder than on a rough carbon face, and the short game feels a bit muted when you try to take pace off a drop. Padelful also rates it less explosive than a pure power racket. Odd, then, that Padelful scores its power above the carbon Motion's, 9.2 against 8.8. Our reading: at club swing speeds the flex of fibreglass adds free pace, while a stiff face only pays back when you swing hard.

Coello Team 2026 against the 2025 version

Head's sheet changes little between the two seasons. Both are 360 g fibreglass diamonds with Power Foam and a carbon frame, and Padelful gives both an overall 8.5. The scores underneath moved, though: the 2026 frame rates higher for power and control, and slightly lower for rebound and sweet spot. In plain terms the newer one hits a touch firmer and asks for a slightly cleaner strike.

We stock the 2026 Coello Team. If you have played the 2025 version and liked it, the step across is a small one. If you found the old one a little soft off the face, this season's frame is the one to try.

Is it the right Coello for you?

Head now sells five Coello rackets, and the names don't help much. The Coello Vibe is a teardrop for players in their first year or two. The Team is the first diamond in the line. Above it the Motion adds the carbon hybrid face for a crisper strike, and the Pro is the 370 g frame Arturo Coello himself uses on tour, hard and head-heavy. Last season's Coello Motion 2025 is still around too, if you want carbon at the same 360 g. And if the budget is tighter, HEAD's entry diamond, the Cyber, keeps the shape with a softer foam and medium balance.

You are in your first months of padel and still defend more than you attack: a diamond's high sweet spot punishes the low, rushed block. Look instead at a round or teardrop racket. Strong advanced players who live on spin will also find the fibreglass face a bit tame and should go to the Motion.

Before the first match

Add an overgrip before you play: it builds the handle up to your hand and soaks up sweat. The Head Prime Tour three-pack is a tacky, thin option, and padel grips has the rest. A strip of tape from the racket protector range along the top of the head saves the paint the first time the diamond's widest point clips the glass.

For balls, the Head Pro S+ tube is the faster tournament ball and pairs well with a power racket; padel balls compares the others. Keep the racket in a bag out of the car on hot days, since heat softens foam: the Coello Tour bag matches the racket, and padel bags has smaller ones. Court shoes with a herringbone sole, from padel shoes, finish the kit. Other mid-level frames are on best padel racket for intermediate and diamond padel rackets, the whole range is under padel rackets, and the guide to choosing a padel racket covers shape and balance from scratch.

Head Coello Team 2026 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Does Arturo Coello play with the Coello Team?

No. Coello uses the Coello Pro, a 370 g carbon-faced diamond. The Coello Team carries his signature and crown logo but is a softer, fibreglass version of the same idea for club players.

Is the Head Coello Team 2026 a good racket for an intermediate player?

Yes, it is aimed squarely at intermediate players. The fibreglass face forgives off-centre hits and is kind on the arm, while the diamond shape and 270 mm balance help the smash. Complete beginners usually do better with a teardrop such as the Coello Vibe.

Head Coello Team or Coello Motion: what is the difference?

Weight, shape and core are the same and the balance differs by 2 mm. The face is the change: fibreglass on the Team, Carbon Hybrid HS on the Motion. The Team feels softer and more comfortable; the Motion is crisper and grips the ball more for spin.

What changed on the Coello Team 2026 from the 2025 model?

Not much on paper: both are 360 g fibreglass diamonds with Power Foam. Padelful's scores put the 2026 frame slightly ahead for power and control and slightly behind for rebound and sweet spot.

How heavy is the Head Coello Team 2026?

Head lists 360 g with a 10 g tolerance, so a racket from the box can weigh 350 to 370 g. The balance is 270 mm from the butt, a little towards the head.

How long does a fibreglass padel racket like the Coello Team last?

It depends on how often and how hard you play. The first sign of age is a foam core that feels flat and slow off the face. Storing it out of heat, keeping it in a cover and taping the frame all help the face and edge last longer.
