Head Speed Motion Padel Racket 2025

£119.95

The Head Speed Motion padel racket is the 355 g all-rounder in HEAD's 2025 Speed range: a teardrop with a woven carbon and fibreglass face and Power Foam, for intermediate and advanced players who want the Speed Pro's balance of attack and defence in a lighter, quicker frame.

Retailers pitch it as the Speed Pro with more manoeuvrability, and Padelful's scores back that up. If you're searching for a 2026 version, this is the current one: HEAD renews its ranges every other season, and the Speed was renewed for 2025.

The Speed Pro, 15 grams lighter

Every 2025 Speed racket shares the same 270 mm balance and Power Foam core, so what changes from model to model is weight and face. The Speed Motion takes the Speed Pro's woven carbon and fibreglass face and drops the weight from 370 to 355 g. That's enough to make it noticeably faster at the net without turning it into a featherweight.

Padelful's numbers show the trade clearly. The Speed Motion scores 9.1 for manoeuvrability against the Pro's 8.7, and 7.3 for power against 8.4. Sweet spot (8.6) and rebound (8.8) both stay high, and Padelful describes the feel as medium: neither the soft give of the fibreglass Speed Team nor the firm punch of the heavier carbon frames.

On court with a Speed Motion

This is a racket for players who spend a lot of the point at the net and like to move the ball around. The lighter frame comes through quickly on reflex volleys and low blocks, and the teardrop head keeps the sweet spot central enough that defending from the glass doesn't feel like a gamble. Padelful sums it up as a blend of speed and control that suits both experienced players and keen improvers.

What it won't do is win points for you overhead. With 7.3 for power, a flat smash needs a full swing, and players who finish everything from the net will get more from the Pro or the Speed One, which Padelful scores 8.7 for power and a perfect 10 for manoeuvrability.

Specs, and where the listings disagree

HEAD's page gives the balance as high at 270 mm, and Tennis Warehouse and Racketpedia agree. Tennis Nuts calls it medium, even. Weight is 355 g on HEAD's sheet with the usual 10 g tolerance, though one retailer lists 360 g. Retailers sold the 2025 Speed Motion with Ari Sánchez's name on it; she moved from HEAD to adidas in February 2026, so treat that as a 2025 association, not a current one.

Other HEAD rackets called Motion

HEAD uses Motion across its ranges for the lighter model, which makes for some confusing searches. The Radical Motion 2026 is the control version: 355 g, a lower 260 mm balance and a double carbon face. The Coello Motion and Extreme Motion are 360 g diamonds built for attack. If you want the same all-round teardrop idea from an older season, the Speed Motion 2023 is the previous generation.

Not for you if

You finish points with heavy smashes, you want a soft fibreglass feel, or you are in your first months of padel. The Speed Pro, Speed Team or a beginner teardrop will suit you better.

Grip, tape, balls and bag

Fit a thin overgrip so the handle stays as quick as the frame; the HEAD Prime Tour three-pack is very tacky, and padel grips has drier ones. A strip of HEAD protection tape along the top saves the paint against the glass. For balls, the Head Pro S+ tube is HEAD's ball for cold courts, and padel balls has the rest.

The 25-litre Head Tour backpack takes a racket and the day's kit; padel bags has bigger options, and padel shoes the footwear. Other teardrops are on teardrop padel rackets, mid-level picks on best padel racket for intermediate, the full range under padel rackets, and the guide to choosing a padel racket explains weight and balance.

Head Speed Motion Padel Racket 2025: questions people ask

Is there a Head Speed Motion 2026?

Not as a separate model at the time of writing. HEAD renews its ranges every other season, and the Speed was renewed for 2025, so the Speed Motion 2025 is the current version.

Is the Head Speed Motion 2025 good for intermediate players?

Yes. It is light enough to handle easily, with a teardrop shape and a forgiving sweet spot, and Padelful scores it 8.6 there. Complete beginners usually do better with a cheaper fibreglass racket first.

Head Speed Motion or Speed Pro: which should I buy?

Both have the same 270 mm balance and hybrid woven face. The Speed Motion is 355 g and quicker in the hand; the Speed Pro is 370 g with more power. Choose the Motion for speed at the net and the Pro if you want more punch.

How heavy is the Head Speed Motion?

HEAD lists 355 g with a 10 g tolerance, so a racket from the box can weigh 345 to 365 g. One retailer lists 360 g.

Is the Head Speed Motion the same as the Radical Motion?

No. Both are 355 g teardrops, but the Speed Motion is an all-rounder with a 270 mm balance and Power Foam, while the Radical Motion is a control racket with a 260 mm balance, Control Foam and a double carbon face.
